Charming atmosphere with, not only the amenities that you would expect from a small boutique hotel, but many little thoughtful extras. Having a separate living/dining area from the 2 bedrooms was inviting and comfortable for us 3 elder ladies. Nice linens & towels. Nice dishes with plenty of kitchen ware. Location being 2.5 blocks from main plaza was perfect; close but mostly quiet...and walkable.

Excellent location as only a short distance from central churches and the action. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit and your choice of eggs, pancakes, toast, etc.

Mirador del Frayle offers beautiful rooms around an outdoor pool and an attractive terrace. The property is located just over 10 minutes’ walk from central San Miguel de Allende.

The place is located just 1 km from the very center of San Miguel. While this is quite close, the location is up on a hill, making the walk to the center quite steep. However, if you use the La Palma stairs instead of Cta. de Loreto, it will be easier and faster. I did this every day, even a couple of times on our last day, despite having a toe injury. The staff is lovely, especially the person who serves breakfast in the restaurant. They provide great customer attention and kindness. I recommend this place if you are okay with walking. The view of the uptown streets will make your decision worthwhile.

    The room is very clean and the bed is incredibly comfy. The breakfast service is included and very nice. The only downside is that it’s a bit remote at the border of San Miguel de Allende. However, if you drove there, there is no problem.

    The main draw is the town square where the Church is located...

    The main draw is the town square where the Church is located. If you give yourself 3 hours you can see it all. Not much else, just shops and restaurants. Most people are ex pats or weekenders parading around in their country club best. Go to Guanajuato instead!

    Incredibly beautiful and clean. Fabulous place to take pictures, shop and eat. Walking around the lovely city was fun for a day or two. Not sure what else one does here? If you visit, I recommend an historical tour, as the city does have a very interesting past:) I was happy to return to my younger more active home in Puerto Escondido.

    You will love this town.

    You will love this town. It's quiet, easy to walk anywhere, the food is excellent and the price is even better. Highly recommend Quince rooftop or another nice rooftop for dinner. The town is a Unesco world heritage site, so it's well preserved, very clean, no litter. Between the buildings and all the flowers and vegetation, this town is so colorful, bring your camera! Everyone was very nice, patient and welcoming. I will definitely be back.

    A vibrant town full of cultural activities, classical concerts in churches to rooftop bars with Blues & Jazz. An abundance of authentic Mexican restaurants to classy international cuisine. Galleries, theatre, artisanal fabrics, decor and unique milagros souvenirs, local hot springs. Well organised day & overnight trip tours visiting nearby towns or a rewarding Monarch butterfly trek by www.coppermoontravels.com

    Enjoyed the location, facilities & staff at CasaMaricela. Attended morning session at the International Writers Conference. Visited the Botanical Gardens, walked through historic areas, architecture, Centro, Guadalupe-Fabrica La Aurora, murals, Aurora bookstore, Artisan Market, art museums, concerts in El Jardin, visited shops & galleries, talked to people, La Gruta-Hot Springs. Visited city of Guanajuato-Diego Rivera home/museum, walking old city. Enjoyed the following restaurants: Quince,The Restaurant, Puebla Viejo, Cafe de La Aurora. A truly wonderful engaging Mexican experience surrounded by friendly welcoming local people & a lot of “artsy” expats from Canada, US,etc.

    SMA is one of the most interesting destinations in Mexico.

    SMA is one of the most interesting destinations in Mexico. There are many colonial buildings and the overall ambience is attractive. Most notable is the rich cultural life. Music everywhere including opera as well as many mariachi bands. Bilingual theatre performances at the public library are of high quality. Weather is unbeatable!

    Location is best as it is between the centro and the bus terminal which saves you money for taxi and provides alternative dining experience. Neighborhood is very safe and quiet. Towels are new, smells good and very clean. Internet connection is really good. Hot water is.warm and water pressure is good. Staff are very very nice. Room is very spacious. They allowed me to check in earlt and move me to a room with a more quiet fan. If you are in a budget and not very picky, this hotel will work for you.

    Casa Camellia in San Miguel Allende is a wonderful boutique hotel experience. Our room had a king size bed that was super comfortable. The host Mr Uriel was exceptional and took care of all details from the moment we booked. Breakfast is delicious and is included. We loved staying at Casa Camellia and we’ll surely be back! Value for money is really very good. A lovely stay overall.
