The room and lodge are designed to give an overall feeling of a high-end glamping experience - everything needed for a good night sleep in a very minimalistic setting. Comfortable bed, nice spacious room and bathroom. Everything impeccably clean. Very nice dinner/breakfast buffet selections at the sister Sossusvlei Lodge a few minutes away by car (alternatively they also provide a very good food/meat selection for grilling outside the room). Note it is owned by the same group running Etosha Village so there are a lot of similarities between the two places. Wonderful night skies.

This place was wonderful and a great place to start off our Namibia trip. It is on a private reserve and there is a small waterhole right by the restaurant so animals can be seen up-close. The pet zebra that roams close to the lodge is great especially if you have never seen a zebra before! The room itself was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom, with every comfort in it (including very nice soaps and lotions). What was really memorable was the scent of the roof's grass all throughout the room - I loved it! Food was also good. Note that in the wet season you need a 4x4 to reach it.

Relative seclusion! The cliff top pool! Sunsets! We discovered a winery in the neighborhood 🍷 Little distance to Dunes 😍 The camp caretakers Henrique and ? so sorry. One night my neighbor tent mistakenly left their light on shining into my stargazing 🔭 and tent, these gentlemen awoke and kindly ensured the light was turned off! Beyond the accommodation was the 50th Birthday Celebrations the team gifted me with inclusive of special private table, huge chocolate delicious cake and deluxe musical experience 🤗

Beautiful property. Very nice room. Great experience. Excellent staff especially Allen in the restaurant and Abdul in the bar. Friendly and helpful. Not cheap but highly recommended.

We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei.
From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy.
Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too.
I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.

Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth.
Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth. Wonderful place to spend time with. At least you need to stay 1 night inside park to make sure that you can go to Deadvlei early in the moring. Take photos with shade of light. Hiking at Daddy dune in the morning and slide down to deadvlei.

Sesriem is an oasis in the desert and everything is well organized but basic. Prepare well before you go. The cleanliness of the entire area is remarkable. The Namibian people are very friendly and helpful - don't be shy to ask for advice.

I loved the dunes, but we should have got there a bit earlier in the day for the best photographic opportunities. We stayed at We Kebi Lodge which was exceptional value for money, and I would have loved to stay there for a longer stay.

The road in from Mariental (273Km) and out to Walvis Bay (315 Km) were sand/gravel, and in a poor shape for large portions. Other than that it was a great stay. 2 nights should be a minimum with at least one day to frolic in the dunes.

Accommodation in and around Sesriem and Sossusvlei is slightly on the expensive side for locals and South Africans. However, it is one of those things that you have to see and experience should you be able to travel the gravel roads of this vast country.

Beautiful accommodation. Very comfortable beds and linen. Spacious room. Plenty of place to put your stuff down. Fridge and outside seating with a braai. The bar and pool area are very nice and one can mingle there with other guests.
Close to Sesriem Canyon and Sossusvlei.
Oasis in the desert, close to Sesriem. Beautiful castle style with pool area, amazing views, bonfire evenings and a waterhole where to see some animals. Clean and well maintained, and friendly staff.
