Location is perfect, hotel has an nice vibe. Rooftop view is great. Food is oké, breakfast was good. On a nice day you can see the Mountains tops.
To be improved: temp of the showers not stable. Most of the time a cold. Room 103 has a smell from the showers (sewer smell).

A peaceful and welcoming stay in the heart of Bhaktapur!
Hotel Bhaktapur Inn is a lovely place with a calm atmosphere, super friendly staff, and a beautiful garden to relax in. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet — perfect for resting after a day exploring the city. The location is ideal, just a short walk from the main squares, but tucked away enough to feel like a hidden sanctuary. The hospitality here made me feel right at home. Highly recommended for travelers looking for authenticity and peace.
Set amidst a spacious lawn and boasting views of the surrounding landscape, Planet Bhaktapur Hotel is situated just 1 km from the city centre. It provides complimentary Wi-Fi access.

It was a quiet setting with outlook to the farms. The management and staff were wonderful. We also took a very cheap but excellent tour to the Durbar square and an arranged transfer to the airport.

The space and size of the suite are incredibly large and spacious. It features a generous living area with a balcony, which we didn’t use due to the air pollution outside. However, the living room was extremely comfortable, perfect for watching TV, exercising, doing yoga, relaxing, or even taking a nap.
The kitchen is spacious but has only the basics, suitable for preparing tea, coffee, or simple meals. We requested a French press at the reception to make coffee, and they provided it immediately.
The bathroom is large, but there is no curtain or partition to prevent water from spreading across the floor when showering. However, there is hot water. There wasn’t a hairdryer in the room, but upon request, the reception brought one right away.
The bedroom is incredibly cozy and inviting, with a very comfortable bed. You can choose between soft ambient lighting or brighter lights. The windows are soundproof, which is great since the room overlooks the street, but no noise can be heard inside. The room itself is also very spacious.
We stayed on the third floor, and the staff kindly helped us carry our luggage up upon arrival and down upon departure.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a delicious hot drink and a small welcoming ceremony, which made our stay feel even more special.
One morning, they generously offered us a free tour of the more local, less touristy temples, and we absolutely loved experiencing the authentic atmosphere of the area.
The best part? The service was absolutely outstanding.
Breakfast was delicious, served at the restaurant of the hotel across the street, The Nanee. The service and quality were excellent. We also had dinner there one evening, and everything was exquisite.
Thank you!

Suman, the manager, was super kind and provided us with info about the Nepali New Year. He accompanied and helped to get some medication and got us yoghurt for breakfast on request. Nice warm shower. Also, the location and the rooftop are brilliant. All sights are within walking distance. It was so nice to stay at Bakthapur for a few days. I don't understand why most people choose to visit it on a daytrip only.

Bhaktapur – A Timeless Heritage Gem!
Bhaktapur is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling to Nepal. This ancient city is like stepping into a living museum, with its well-preserved temples, intricate wood carvings, and stunning courtyards. The Durbar Square is a highlight, showcasing breathtaking architecture and rich history. Walking through the narrow alleys, you’ll find traditional pottery, local crafts, and delicious Newari cuisine—don’t miss the famous Juju Dhau (King Curd)!

Bhaktapur, a great place to look at the culture in your own time , and enjoy without the hussle and bustle of a busy city, great to explore and watch people and especially the locals going about there traditions. Don’t be afraid to walk up allley ways, you may find a surprise, an open space with a religious monument, or children playing , maybe ladies drying rice, at certain time of the year. All in all a great place to study the people and there culture. And don’t forget to Try the King Kurd.

I have been traveling a lot in my life, but I never saw such a beautiful city. Eventhough, the dramatical earthquake , all the buildings and temples have been fixed with the old materiel.
Walking by night in Bhaktapur in those small street is like to be in the middle age. Bhaktapur is a travel through the time.

Nice place to stay for a couple of hours.
Nice place to stay for a couple of hours. If someone like spiritual places, definitely the right location. A lot of places are still under construction, since the earthquake, so the 55th window palace was closed.

Bhaktapur is still recovering from the 2015 earthquake which created havoc with the local historic buildings. However, much has been done though. The place is doing it's best to get back into a reasonable position however COVID has taken its toll on the local industry and tourist venues (small shops and traders as well as the restaurants and hotels - a large number of which were closed when I visited.)
I have visited many times and it still retains a special charm - photographic opportunities are always present, whether the buildings, the people or the views of the mountains - still is a magical place.
Oh, (like other places in Nepal) the people are so friendly - they stop and ask if you need help but just want to be helpful, with no pushy sales pitch or offering of a ride to other local attractions.

I really enjoyed my stay at hotel layaku! The second I arrived I felt at home. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Also the best hot shower I’ve had in Nepal. It’s only a 3 minute walk to Durban square and from the rooftop where they serve the breakfast (which was also very good) you can see the whole city and also the mountains. They made sure I could get my laundry done even in a very short time and everyone was super helpful. Please stay here when you’re in Bhaktapur, it’s a really great place!
Such a great visit at Laxmi Homestay. The owner is open minded, warm, friendly and sensitive. He will provide a city walk to show you his culture and the cities myths and he knows all the hidden places of Bhaktapur. You will stay in clean guest rooms and you may be invited to have food and tea in the family´s kitchen or on the rooftop. It is simple, don´t expect luxury, it is not a hotel. But with such a dedicated owner you will get the cultural nepal experience that you are looking for.
- easily the best accommodation of our trip
- stunning location with beautiful views from our room
- very friendly, attentive and helpful staff
- very quiet (although that might be different when the hotel is fully booked)
- very nice room with large, comfy beds. Lots of space for our stuff.
- brilliant restaurant with excellent Italian and very good Nepalese cuisine
- excellent breakfast with a huge selection
I really like the breakfast here. I really don't eat breakfast in the hotel but here I eat. The rooms are very clean. The staff are very nice, kind and superb friendly. As an alone girl traveller, I feel very safe here . This location is the best as it excesses all parts of Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
If I came back to bhaktapur, I am going to stay here again. I will suggest if you come to bhaktapur, stay here.
The room was very clean and cozy. The bed was also comfartable. Hot water was fine. The location of the hotel is perfect ; almost in the Durbar square. Shops and other restaurants are very close.. Anand is very helpfull with a smiling face. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Bhaktapur. I wish Icould have stayed more. I will definitely be there for my next trip to Bhaktapur.
