It felt like being home. Babu, Bella and their son Aayush were so welcoming, heart full and supportive.

My Girlfriend and I stayed in this homestay for two weeks during an internship we did in Kirtipur. If you plan to stay in the region of Kathmandu, I can recommend Kirtipur because compared to the center of Kathmandu it isn't too noisy and still you can go to Kathmandu by a cab very easy and cheap. The hostfamily around Aashish is unbelievable friendly. They help you with everything you could think of.
On first sight there may be cheaper options to sleep over in Nepal. If you consider that the prize includes not only breakfast but also lunch and dinner you won't find anything comparable here. Also the food is sooo good and always freshly cooked. In addition the homestay got a waterfilter, so you can fill up your waterbottles during the stay whenever you want.
This homestay made our two weeks stay in Kirtipur very comfortable. We felt like we would be part of the family for years during our stay. I can highly recommend this place!

We stayed for 3 nights with family and had a wonderful experience at Oasis Hotel. The peaceful surroundings and the hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and treated us very well. This hotel located in the heart of Thamel, just a short walk from the shopping area, others. The service was excellent, and the food, including breakfast, was absolutely delicious.

A lovely small Nepalese owned hotel in a quiet street. The bedrooms are very comfortable with soft (but not sunken) mattresses, block out curtains and no road noise. The restaurant is excellent with a varied buffet breakfast and the lunch and dinner meals were also excellent. The staff were all amazing, genuinely friendly and helpful. There is also a great spa nearby.

Kirtipur is a town outside of the city, about 5km away so costs about 500 rupees to taxi to the city during the day. At night the cost can vary between 700-900 rupees.
The town is a local town so you see very real Nepalese life. Local shops only but it has a range of temples and you can travel to Patan, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur very easily in a local taxi or motorbike.
As it is outside of the city, it is very cheap to eat and drink. Here you will see very real local life, market selling on the roads by night and children heading to school in the days.
Taxis are available all the time.
You have a mountain range view from the town and the sunsets are very pretty over the local mountain range.

I liked to stay in Kirtipur because it was close to the city, but much more calm, less polluted and more enjoyable to walk around, because we could see green areas and beautiful landscapes.
There are places that we must visit: Sasa Restaurant to try good newari food and listen live music and Eliz cafe to taste delicious banana loaf or cinnamon roll.
It is easy to walk around kirtipur and you can visit some temples, stupa, suspension bridge and the university by walking.
