During a big road trip around New Zealand we returned to the Teviot View two bedroom apartment for our last two nights as we had already stayed here and knew how lovely it is. This apartment was the best yet, we had plenty of room and there’s also a sofa bed in the living area if you need extra space. The owners are so friendly and welcoming it really felt like a home from home to us.
There is a good kitchen area which we didn’t really have time to make use of, and room to sit and eat either inside or outside. We stayed here as it’s close to relatives but it’s handy for Christchurch too. There are shops, takeaways and restaurants within easy walking distance, and if you follow the road you get to Amberley Beach. The apartment is on a small site with just a couple of other apartments so there’s no noise. We had a lovely visit and I highly recommend staying here.

Our stay in the wine pod was absolutely unforgettable! We had just one night, but it was a perfect blend of fun and relaxation. We arrived at Georges Road Winery in the afternoon, checked in with our gracious host, and then took advantage of the complimentary bikes to explore the nearby wineries (two of them are just a short ride away). We enjoyed a delightful tasting at Georges Road before settling into the wine pod, nestled right on the property with stunning views of the vineyard.
The wine pod is beautifully appointed—everything was thoughtfully designed for comfort. The bed was incredibly cozy, the outdoor soaking tub was a real treat, and we loved sitting on the patio with a snack and tea, soaking in the serene surroundings. We also took advantage of the option to have food stocked in the fridge, as there's a grill available, and the meal was absolutely delicious. The breakfast offerings were equally charming, with local delicacies in adorable packaging.
Kirk and Allison have truly thought of everything—down to an assortment of their wines in the fridge, making it easy to enjoy a glass and settle up upon departure. Highly recommend this incredible experience!

Nice little, tiny home. Good for overnight stay, although not much room for luggage. Great little fish and chip shop near by. Beach very nice, even in winter.

The Amberley Hotel is an "Oasis" on the out-skirts of Christchurch.
Arriving on a late afternoon flight my wife & I just wanted to get out of Christchurch & avoid the "Knock-Off Traffic" around the City.
A short 45mins north is the wee town of Amberley & the Amberley Hotel is a good first night stopover after a tiresome day of travel.
There are soft beds, good food & cold beer.
