Hosts were amazing and went above and beyond. The little touches such as the bread and fresh fruit were welcomed on arrival and house has a great layout for a few or many people joining. The deck and spa were well used and it was an easy drive to pop into Dargaville for supplies. We will definitely be back if we have to return to the area.

Basic but comfortable apartment with stunning lake view.
Very peaceful location.
Very responsive host.
Quite strange not having doors on the bedrooms and I do think this would make a big difference as the fridge/freezer was noisy and a green light from the kitchen could be seen

Dargaville is a great town.
Dargaville is a great town. Shopping centre is reasonably comprehensive. You need to research things to do. In summer Kai Iwi lakes is a great place to visit, swim, launch your boat ( if you have one) stay in the camping ground or just pitch your own tent. There are plenty of cafes and eating establishments. Research the area and things to do in the area before you go.

Town with proud history, has retained many of its heritage buildings. Friendly locals, beautiful river views and handy compact town centre to stock up for trips to the kauri forests or to the beaches. Baylys Beach is closest (12 km) and beautifully rugged with massive dunes that go on for miles.
Kai Iwi lakes is also a very nice spot (45 km away).

Unfortunately we arrived with cyclone Gabrielle, so we could only enjoy the spaciousness and comfort of the property. Our planned excursions were cancelled and we only managed to escape on our last day when Emma guided us out through the high road to Dargaville.
Emma kept in contact throughout and would have organised provisions had it been necessary (fortunately we had stocked up for the duration of our stay beforehand)
This is my fourth visit to Dargaville over the past 3 months.
Set in a central yet quiet location Rustic Rails is close to the Woolworthes supermarket, shops and eateries. Its is always spotless. The bed is comfortable and the shower has excellent pressure.
I like the additional of the small foldable seat to place your clothing or bag.
Roy & Vita are amazing hosts. Apartment was immaculate & smelled so good when we first walked in. Amenities were well catered for. My husband & son enjoyed their stay. Thank you both for a comfortable stay. This will always be the place we come to whenever we are in Dargaville.
