Located in Greytown in the Wellington Region, 15 km from Martinborough, The White Swan Hotel features a sun terrace and views of the garden. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar and restaurant.

It’s such a perfect location and such a lovely night away for us for our anniversary, especially as we haven’t had a night away from our kids ever! We were upgraded before we arrived which was amazing and then when we told the staff about our anniversary we were given a bottle of wine to take back to our room which really made the evening special. Everyone we dealt with was just amazing.

Originally built in 1882, this charming hotel has been lovingly restored to its former glory and features an elegant restaurant and bar. Each room includes satellite TV and free Wi-Fi.

Its the little things that irk and spoil the experience. On arrival at check in, we were informed that guests enjoyed a 20% discount on breakfast at their restauirant. We duly had breakfast and informed the staff we were guests and our room number. However on settling the account for breakfast we noticed there was no discount and the restaurant staff informed us that was to be handled at check out. On checking out, the staff there said that the discount did not apply as we had not booked thru the reception - I dont believe this rubbish, and hence our poor impression of the Martinborough Hotel after a 4 day stay. -

A good stop for a night or two on a trip up the east coast of the north island to Greytown, then Havelock North and then Taupo. Has some nice cafes, op shops, antique stores and after coming over the range is a good break before heading further. Some lovely old homes and gardens to wander around and see. Great shop to buy cheeses, chutneys and other products - called Cheez It. Locals very friendly and some great bookstores that we enjoyed looking through. Also has a book festival annually, which we are going to look into. Local wineries not far away.

We stayed at the Royal Hotel, which was truly excellent, and very highly recommended for accommodation and food. We explored Featherstone & surrounds, and although many places were closed as it was the King's Birthday, we enjoyed a coffee at C'est Cheese. A highlight was a visit to Olea Estate where we experienced wonderful hospitality from the owners, who produce award winning olive oils. Don't miss out on this.

Didn't go to Featherston to shop or see the sites. I went to a wedding there. The venue was within walking distance which was great. The only thing about this property is the owners live right across from you, so can see everything that happens. From visitors to staying up late.

Featherston is a great place to stay the night.

Featherston is a great place to stay the night. The food at the Royal Hotel is exceptional. And we found a little bookshop and cafe at the other end of the street which had the most amazing high tea of date scones with raspberry jam and mascarpone. I've always driven through on the way to Greytown, but decided to stay in Featherston at the Royal Hotel instead. I will be going back. Perfect overnight getaway.

Beautiful rural countryside community, with rolling hillsides and picturesque landscapes. Farms and open spaces as far as the eye can see, time to sit relax, unwind and enjoy. Recommend taking a drive out to Lake Ferry (take a picnic) and enjoy.
