The location was beautiful. The dinner was very good. And the glowworm walk after dinner and stars at night were amazing.

Oak Lodge was a large family home that was made into a B and B in the 1920’s . The grounds were beautiful and bird filled with a lovely garden that surrounds the house. The delicious hot breakfast that the host Robin made for us was worth the stay alone. We had a lounge area on the top floor that was nice and cozy with tea, coffee and biscuits! Oak Lodge was a short drive into Greymouth. I would stay there again if ever I would be blessed to visit New Zealand again.

The staff were very friendly and chatty. The cleaner told us we didn't have to move out of room fast as she got other rooms to do. 👍🏻Also the cleaner answered my questions about area. Population at school etc. I would totally recommend this place. 👍🏻

Village in a beautiful setting near native forest park and overlooking Lake Brunner. A small number of occupied original houses and lots of new modern holiday homes that would likely be busy in the Summer water-skiing season. Neat historic railway buildings. A great place to stop on the Tranzscenic with a couple of good places to eat overlooking the lake. Beautiful short bush walks nearby.

It is a wonderful spot and surprisingly didn't cost the earth. We ate in the Lodge and the food was excellent. The lodge and the owners are wonderful.
There is a short length of unpaved road to get to the lodge but don't let that deter you. It passes quickly and just adds to its charm.

Nice and quiet before Christmas, afterwards gets very busy with holiday makers, good walking tracks around the area. Great place if you have a boat, water skiing etc. Greymouth is only 25 minutes away if you need to go to a supermarket i.e. Countdown and New World. There is a convenience store (On the Spot) on the outskirts of Moana.

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Moana
Location especially, Cosy and history of the hotel, welcoming staff and good food. Bonus was getting the family room which then enabled our son to stay the one night which he had originally booked a bunkroom. He was a surprise guest for my husband's 70th birthday stay at the hotel! Thank you.
Weather was fantastic and our guests (family staying in the suites above the hotel) loved Moana.
Our stay was absolutely wonderful, and the hotel receptionist 'V' was very welcoming and helpful.
The hotel is old and the style does not try to hide this - rather it shows the true character and quality of the building.
Will definitely stay again!
Nice, quiet spot, a couple of minutes drive from Moana and the lake. Lovely clean room and friendly host. Comfortable bed, excellent water pressure in the shower, and provisions for a continental breakfast.
