A cute little upstairs room that was appointed in an old-fashioned way. Great pub.

One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in New Zealand. Boutique style with only a few rooms and personalised service from the owner Sarah. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cater to our needs travelling with a baby.
Situated in Nelson City Centre, The Hotel Nelson is a 4-star Qualmark rated property within walking distance of Nelson Saturday Market, and the main business, shopping and entertainment precinct.

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed in a group for a bridge tournament. Lovely and clean but we felt very expensive for a group of 4 sharing for 2 nights.
Centrally located in Nelson, the 4-star Rutherford Hotel is within easy walking distance of the city’s main shopping streets and the landmark cathedral. Guests will enjoy complimentary WiFi.

I liked the Classic Car museum, it is fantastic and a must see for people of all ages. Good Cafe and lots of gifts for sale to suit everyone, not just car related. Nice beaches and scenery. Many Vineyards to visit if that’s your thing. Tramping with many places to explore.

We only walked around Nelson itself.
We only walked around Nelson itself. It appeared a little run down and quite a few homeless on the Main Street.
Richmond shopping area and small mall had a better feel and cleaner etc.
Great to access the Abel Tasman region.

We only had a day in Nelson after walking the Abel tasman but loved the day we had and wanted longer. We walked around the town centre checking out the op shops, they were great, well priced. We walked in the historical street, very interesting and had a good look outside and inside the cathedral, well worth a look. We caught the bus to the Classic car museum, also well worth a good couple of hours, we loved it! it even had the back to the future car! from there we walked to Totoranui beach where we enjoyed a lovely swim. A good day had by all!

Pleased with quick service of Smith and Smith to repair windscreen chipped on way up from Christchurch . We looked around museum while fixed . Bit disappointed we didn’t know Motueka was only open half day on Saturday . But KFC picnic at the Rose garden on the Main Street with our dog was good anyway .

Nelson has a very good car museum, and we'll worth a visit. Also their cafe is excellent. Highly recommend the mushroom and feta crepe. Yum! The centre of nelson Also has a sat market, local produce , etc, food stalls. until about 1pm. The beach is lovely ,but didn't have time to visit it. The area by the beach has tennis courts you can use, there is a bike track.small Zoo, mini golf. Cafe etc.child friendly. Just a great place to hang out. Good eating places in the area by the beach.

Wonderful view. Very good quality guest accommodation much like a 5* hotel, but attached to the owners home. Hosts were great and most helpful. Tea tray and kettle in room with some nice teas. Fresh milk kept in a communal fridge. Breakfast was lovely and the cooked options were made to order and served in the guest dining room overlooking the deck and sea. A handy few minutes drive from Nelson.
Excellent staff - they went over and above board to help us out during our stay. We checked in early as the room was ready, and a taxi was booked for us to leave early the next day to the airport. When the taxi didn't arrive in time for our departure, the owner took us to the airport in Nelson. Such a lovely, helpful couple - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.
Great place to stay in Nelson and not far from the main sights to see. The hotel was able to arrange a driver for me to pick me up and drop me off at the airport/hotel.
I was there for a wedding so they went the extra mile and i could use the driver to pick me up and drop me off from the wedding. Great stay and great room, loved the bath !
Everything in the rooms is really considered. Excellent layout. Very clean. Staff were incredibly friendly. I had coffee and breakfast in the morning both of which were really good too, surprisingly so because sometimes that can be a bit of a let down in a hotel. Nelson has some excellent coffee spots and this was just as good as anywhere.
Clean and comfortable. Idea if you wanted the beach side of Nelson. City centre a few miles away. Hotel set right on front near beach which is superb. Not a lot around but a great bar and food place a very close Sprig & Fern recommended
