We loved staying at the Tongariro Crossing Lodge, the staff were so friendly, we really enjoyed the cooked breakfasts. They booked the shuttles for the Alpine Crossing which all worked out well.

My partner and I stayed for two nights at National Park Backpackers and had a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome — they were friendly, approachable, and always happy to help with any questions we had about the area or facilities. We booked a private room, which was spotless and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable — we slept really well both nights — and the room had everything we needed for a cozy stay. The shower was also excellent, with good water pressure and plenty of hot water, which was perfect after a day of exploring. The common areas were clean and inviting, and the overall atmosphere of the place was relaxed and friendly. It’s also in a great location if you’re planning to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing or just enjoy the beauty of the National Park area. We really enjoyed our time here and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Highly recommended!
