Wonderful view of the marina. It was a great base to explore the area with some lovely restaurants in walking distance. There was parking and it was nice and quiet! The room was spacious and comfy!

The flat is clean and beds àre comfy. Angela is helpful too. However, the bathroom is a bit uncomfortable, with both bedrooms having access to it as we are staying with a couple friends. We didn't get into the beach as the private access is closed. The photos are misleading as you can only enjoy the beach view through the host's main house. But generally, we had a great stay.

The location and facilities are fantastic,Susie the host is absolutely lovely.
Although we didnt use the pool ,it looked absolutely stunning,
I really enjoyed the outside bath ,and the incredible view and weather we had were enough,
also the beautiful beach and walks were just perfect for a relaxing weekend away.

Lupton Lodge is a short drive to Whangarei and all the shops and restaurants there, but is located in a quiet area. The grounds are large and give it a private feel. Our room was spacious.
Head over to Lupton Lodge's website for tons of info to help you plan your stay. I found this very useful and the owner, Andy, is incredibly helpful and communication was great. Helped set up a diving trip. You can also have dinner at the Lodge (to be arranged beforehand) which we very much enjoyed.

Great place, great location and great hosts!
Lorraine and Gerald certainly went out of their way to make our stay feel like a home away from home.
The room was large and airy and the bed was very comfortable. Air con in the room as well which was very useful at times.
Breakfast is served in a guests only dining / sitting room which also has a small kitchen area that is very well equipped. So, if you are like us and don’t want to eat out every night, there is ample facility to prepare a snack type meal using the microwave provided.
There is ample parking.
It is only a short drive into Whangarei with all the amenities that the place has to offer, but is far enough away to be totally private and secluded.
All in all, full respect to Lorraine and Gerald, you’ve nailed it!!
Top drawer B & B.

Loved the little village of Tutukaka, the breathtaking scenery and the delicious food we had at Marina Woodfired Dining. The Poor Knights trip on the Perfect Day Ocean Cruise was a must do. Matapouri Beach is stunning and the takeaways from the Matapouri Corner Store were delish. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Tutukaka.

We stayed 5 nights at Tutukaka and tried each restaurant there. All within very short walking distances from Oceans Hotel. We went to Matapouri Bay a couple of days and then travelled to Whananaki another day which is a bit of a distance and a metal corrugated road. Definitely take a sun umbrella with you to all the beaches unless you want to fry! There are no trees on the beaches I really think the shops at Tutukaka should hire out beach equipment such as umbrellas etc. There is a lovely deli there and if I was them, I would be offering sandwiches / picnics for beach goers who are staying in the hotel.

We visited in November when there were no crowds.
We visited in November when there were no crowds. The road in and out was nice and quiet. Beaches empty. We especially enjoyed the local Anglers club. Beautiful food, good music and friendly staff.

My Wife and I stayed at Tutukaka for our Anniversary.
We enjoyed our stay, it was a hot day and we had a swim in the pool before going to dinner.
The room met our expectations and plan to return again in the future and maybe bring our kids with us next time.

A beautiful, scenic and interesting rural area.
A beautiful, scenic and interesting rural area. Lovely views of the countryside, the ocean, small bays and the coast. Some nice places to park and take a walk. Highly recommended for those who want to "get away from it all", enjoy a weekend with the kids or a "romantic getaway". Only negative point, (based on my own personal experience) is the lack of quality, reasonably priced accommodation. I stayed at " Pacific Rendezvous Resort" and, (see my review on booking.com) was somewhat disappointed. Further disappointed by the content of the response to my review, (also viewable on booking.com). I'll search for a different place to stay when i next have the chance to visit and would recommend others to choose their accommodation with care so as to ensure that the enjoyment of a trip to such a lovely part of the country is not spoiled. TIP: Shop enroute prior to arrival if "self-catering".

My fit mum 88yrs, my older sister and myself all retired, decided to travel top of north island over the month of May 2022. It was relaxing to stay at Pacific Rendezous due to the many days travelling. We did everything we wanted. Lovely memory’s made while we could.
We walk over to whale bay, Rendezous tracks, day out in Whangarei, waterfalls walks, spa.

Loved the whole place, situated at the highest point in tutukaka the winds were about 45 knots but it was well worth the picturesque 360degree views of the bay
Our host was wonderful and the room was just perfect for me and my partner we had a ball only there overnight and would recommend everyone should stay here it's beautiful and the best thing for me was the Bob Marley flag just perfect
Beautiful view
Very comfortable
Modern throughout, great curtains!
Very nice pool and spa
Short walk down the hill to beach
Access to kayaks and paddle boards
Very close to Tutukaka and an hour away from the BOI
Host was friendly accomodating with two lovely dogs
Nice complimentary items, milk, cheese, crackers, fruit etc
The views are absolutely stunning. Even though we were in a storm and the power cut out for a few hours, the hotel staff still managed to accommodate us with torchlight and there were bbq facilities available for cooking.
With views like these, who cares about power lol
The views from the Resort were absolutely stunning and the access to the beach below was an added bonus. The proximity to Tutukaka was only a short drive away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again.
Peaceful location next to marina.
Bed comfortable and good quality bedding. Nice large room and quiet hotel.
Option of fresh air from windows or aircon a nice change in a hotel.
