The heater, the cottage was well appointed, the secret room was loved by the children, the bathroom was good, water pressure and heat was great. And seeing kiwi was awesome!

The 19th-century Duke Hotel is located on the waterfront, overlooking the stunning Bay of Islands. It features a guest lounge, restaurant and bar and garden bar, as well as a gymnasium.

Wonderful stay, room was beautiful, shower pressure was the strongest I have ever felt! Dinner and drinks were excellent. Perfect location to explore Russell. Easy arrival and parking.

Just 328 feet from Paihia Beach, this motel offers self-contained accommodations with access to a shared patio, a garden with outdoor seating and free unlimited WiFi.

The location is great - just a block or two from the water and a 5 minute walk from the town center. The room itself was quite spacious and very comfortable and clean, the bed and shower were good and the wifi worked well. The staff were incredibly friendly.

Centabay is in the best location, close to everything in town. It has a comfortable, laid back atmosphere, with a spa, hammocks, and a great shady patio surrounded by plants. They even offer Kayaks for hire at a great price.

    Nice spot, away from everything and everyone.

    Nice spot, away from everything and everyone. Need to buy fishing bait and food supplies at Oakura General Store or take food and transport in Chilly Bins. Once you are there be prepared to do not much. Good walking tracks, good fishing spots for Surf Casting and there is a local business across the bay which you pass on the way in from Oakura who does fishing and diving charters. The tracks are easy but watch out for the DOC camp ground manager at the headland of the peninsula as she is very protective of her camping ground and will not allow access (barrier arms) to complete your car trip to the end of the PUBLIC road. From the end of this road is an untouched headland with a couple of conservation projects running in it. In summer all of the beaches look safe to me and I did note the locals all swimming in the various bays.
