Best Vacation Ever! I love to travel abroad and this has been my best experience! It is all inclusive. 3 great meals a day, a personal guide every day of your stay who completes up to 3 activities a day with you (after breakfast, after lunch and night exploration). Transportation to the lodge and to back to the airport are provided. It is over an hour drive to the boat and then over an hour boat ride to the lodge. Very scenic! The lodge itself is great for those that don't mind simple lodging. Keep in mind you are in the Amazon, don't expect the Hilton. lol. The bungolows remind me of the screened shelters you find in the State Parks. Showers are cold and there is no AC (a fan is provided). You will grow to love those cold showers after a long humid hike in the rainforest! Everyone was super nice and friendly. Our guide was very knowledgeable and eager to show us everything. He even assisted on the Naked and Afraid XL Amazon TV episode and showed us where the contestants stayed!
We spotted a variety of monkeys and birds. We caught piranha's and the chef even cooked them for us! The sounds of the Amazon at night both while hiking and while boating were amazing. We even saw pink dolphins! I would highly recommend this place for the outdoor/nature enthusiast!
Make sure to bring plenty of cash for tipping and make sure you have all your essentials! Once you are there, there is nothing out there (no stores/atms etc). I am glad I brought extra clothes and plenty of long pants/sleeves. The insects were crazy even with bug spray. Also, WIFI is spotty at best. We never had cell service for phone calls the entire stay (we are on AT&T), on day 3 I finally got about 30 minutes of wifi by some miracle. My dad and brother had a hard time since they are always in constant communication with their business clients. If you need WIFI and are one of those that must work during a vacation the WIFI might be an issue for you.
