Baan Maka is a very comfortable nature lodge, with great staff, good food, and nice grounds. The main point, however, is that it is the best nature lodge near Kaeng Krachan national park, probably Thailand's best spot, over all, for bird watching (and other parts of nature I know less about, in particular butterflies and orchids). The guides from Baan Maka are very good, and I highly recommend that you stay there and visit Kaeng Krachan with their guides. If you are a birder, also spend some time at Mr Bird's hide--which Baan Maka can set up for you.
Set in Kaeng Krachan, 16 km from Kaeng Krachan dam lake, Narinfah Resort offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.

Location is OK but what we got was not worth what we paid. We requested for closed room but in the end I have to called and talked with the owner and we finally got the room close to each other.

The place is very quiet, not far away from the national park and the town. There is nice table on the fresh air and some place to walk and relax even in the evening.
Located just a 2-minute drive from the entrance of Kaeng Krachan National Park, known as the best place for birding, Kum Nangpaya welcomes guests with a restaurant and bar.

Generally a lovely place. The units are rather modern, very neat and clean. Loved the beautiful setting- mostly unspoilt nature next to a beautiful crystal clear river with lush trees and ferns all along the riverbends. Birds and butterflies everywhere- truly serene. At night there’s a great chilled, but buzzy atmosphere with an open air movie being screened and people laughing and playing music next to the river (this was on a Saturday). The staff were friendly, though not particularly well-versed in english (understandably). The a la carte menu and cocktails are delicious!
Kaengkrachan Boathouse Paradise Resort offers accommodation overlooking the Kaengkrachan National Park and Kaengkrachan Reservoir.

Amazing location, views to die for! Staff very friendly, but due to limited English spoken, communication was difficult. As I was there in order to visit KK Nat Park for birding, the early restaurant closure was a slight concern, but worked out after day one. For the non-birder who stayed behind during the day, it was quite lonely as there were very few people around, and we appeared to be the only ones each evening.
Kaeng Krachan is rather remote. Aside from the National Park, there is nothing much to see. On hindsight, we should have based ourselves in Hua Hin (most recreational activities found there anyway), and taken a day trip to Kaeng Krachan.
Rent a vehicle so you're not stuck in the outdated resort like we did and having to eat most of our meals in the resort and dependent on them to drive us around.

This is a fantastic national park, especially for those people who want to experience lots of wildlife.
It doesn't have many facilities ( especially when compared to Khao Yai NP), but camping is available (tents can be hired for a reasonable price) and the two campsites have a basic restaurant ( although check opening times as they often close early).
Please note that the top campsite can only be reached by a 4x4, and that the park operates a one-way system to vehicles. Therefore you can only drive up the hill between certain hours, and down again in a different time slot.
Wildlife abounds in the park, although much of it can be difficult to see to the casual observer. However, a couple of primate and squirrel species are very common, along with various birds.
With luck Gaur, Sun Bear and elephant can be seen, while black Leopard sightings are not uncommon.

Motorcycle riders paradise.
Motorcycle riders paradise. The roads around the Kaeng Krachan National Park and Pa La-U waterfall are pure twisty mountain jungle road bliss. Will not let you go in the park itself though, dirt roads and flash flooding means they dont allow bikes. If you come with a bike and absolutely must get in the park, prepare to hike or rent transport at the checkpoint. We had 3 days in the area and did not miss not getting in at all, so much to see and roads to ride in the area anyway.
Stay at Baan Maka Nature Lodge for the best nature and jungle bird watching themed stay. Dont miss Khrua Chai Khao restaurant on your way to or from Pa La-U waterfall, great food and stunning views of the surrounding area.

VERY nice if you want a quiet place, in the middle of nature with LOTS of amazing birds, squirrels, forests, hiking places canoing and lightning bugs (fireflies). GREAT Thai food and one of the only places I know of in Thailand that make their own bread fresh each day for breakfast. If you're looking for nature, this is the place! (No TVs or microwaves, so if you're wanting to watch your soap operas and eat microwave popcorn, go somewhere else). Hosts are great, very friendly & helpful. Binoculars provided free of charge for birdwatching (we saw LOTS of hornbills, including several that were right by the restaurant) and star watching.

A quiet basis for day tours into Kaeng Krachan National Park, ideal for families with children. Nice pools, good service and perfect authentic food. Fix your private driver up front as this hotel is quite remote, but has everything on board for a couple of relaxed days. Popular with Thai over the weekends, which adds to the typical local vibe. Expect Thai hospitality!
Excellent lodging to explore Kaeng Krachang and surroundings. Also not far from Pak Thale. Very comfortable rooms and good birds at the hotel grounds! Highly recommended.
the environment is very good and it's near the national park good for birds tour.
The owner of the hotel is very polite and she will help you arrange the itinerary.
