A beautiful setting each room having views and terraces out onto one of the numerous lilly ponds/lakes. The rooms themselves had a lovely, calming ambience and were of good size. The staff were friendly and wanted to help but lacked the insight into customer needs to meet expectations.

Exceptional old restored teak Thai house. Very, very special. Make sure you get a room upstairs, not downstairs by the pool - they are fantastic. Excellent breakfasts and good cooking in nondescript restaurant.

Overall a very good experience, only real downside was the position of the AC in the room. We tried to change the blow direction, but whatever way we've put it, it was always blowing directly to my bed or on the bed of my friend. It was not comfortable to sleep with the AC on that way. With the AC out, it was getting too warm.

The location was nice and we got to use the bikes for free. If you arrive with a car, there is a parking spot next to the reception.

My hotel was close to the Historical Park so I was able to visit before 8am, meaning it was not too hot nor crowded. The free tram in the park was quite helpful, but I didn't feel as though I was doing too much walking because the ruins are so interesting, and close together.
I ate at Trip Advisor's top 2 restaurants. Chanda's was close to my hotel and although the Pad Thai wasn't the best in my opinion, it was good enough. For some reason it was closed on the Sunday so I tried Phum Phor, which is one of the nicest places I've ever eaten at. Not cheap, but reasonable for such an upmarket looking place. I was given a free appetizer while checking the menu, and free cookie with my milk drink.

Very simply if you are looking for somewhere off The beaten track a little and reasonably quiet then this place is absolutely perfect. If you are interested in spending a day or two travelling around looking at remnants that date back to the year 1300 and this place is a must. If this doesn't interest you then possibly it's not a place to visit.
FYI Hire a driver and buggy to take you around the ruins. Cost me 800 baht for about 5 hours and our lady guide was fantastic. You can find her on the left just before the entrance to the National Park

Interesting town with amazing temples to visit.
Interesting town with amazing temples to visit. A paid part as well as some sites accessible without payment. We went to the historical park and rented bikes there to easily get around to all the different sites within the park. All very close together and my kids loved biking around.
In Sukhothai there are some cute eateries with great food, we went to Lom & Fom kitchen and enjoyed some good meals surrounded by cute kitties. We also had our laundry done at one of the laundry places, there are a few. Great and fast service.

It is an underrated heritage.
It is an underrated heritage. If you love ancient history, ancient civilisations, UNESCO heritage sites, this is the.place that you mist visit.
Anyway, for Muslims Halal food is not available here in the ancient city...not sure in Sukhothai new town. But luckily you can find instant noodles and many halal snacks in 7eleven.

Fantastic landmark for ancient Wats (temples), most of them located in a rather small perimeter. You got better preserved and a higher density of amazing temples and statues than Ayuttaya.
The feeling of the city os of relaxed and very peaceful atmosphere, with an inspiring positive energy.
You can (and should) rent a bike to visit them.
Sukkothai highlights can be done in one day if you like to rush it. But I recommend 2 days at least to have time to fully enjoy your stay.
We drove from Bangkok. It was a 5 hour drive on a very good road all along. So for us, one day was definitely not enough. We stayed 2.5 days in total, and we thought that was the ideal length of stay.
Also we spent new year´s eve there, that was a lovely and unforgettable experience!

The Historical park is beautiful and full of amazing sites.
The Historical park is beautiful and full of amazing sites. It is not as busy as it is a big park, and you can ride your rented bycicle to less busy areas if it happens to have a big excursion group visiting a site.
The night markets have a lot of street food and it is fun to walk around and try some. We were staying on the central area on the other side of the river and there is nice bars and restorants near the art street.

Charming and relaxing sanctuary at the edge of the historical park. We always stay here when we come to Sukhothai. The property is nicely designed. Large parking. Lovely bridge over a canal. We had a delicious dinner beside it. Super breakfast. Must try the rice flour and coconut cream mini puddings served in small banana leaf bowls. In the morning (6:30-7:00am) guests can offer food to Buddhist monks who come by. Hotel would prepare offerings for the guests.
We will come again and we highly recommended it.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful! We felt right at home in our room - it was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed! Also the breakfast buffet was very delicious with a mix of thai breakfast and some western foods! We were able to rent a bike at the hotel and therefore we could visit the nationalpark with the bike which was really nice!
Everything was just great. It’s a beautiful property, really nicely designed. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, it even had a separate desk area. Staff members were very helpful. The on-site restaurant was a bit expensive but offered delicious food. Breakfast was good and our overall experience was great, would highly recommend.
Excellent location to visit the old historical city of Sukhothai.
Our room was in the wooden part of the hotel, and that adds to the authenticity of the stay. Comfortable, even if it was for one night.
The rooms were clean and the hotel is still new, staff were friendly and welcoming, location is great, just a few minutes drive from Sukhothai Historical Park
