It was clean, but there were some flaws such as sand on the bathroom floor when we first got there (no biggie though). The rental had enough space for the 7 of us. The welcome kit of shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, etc was nice, but certainly plan on buying your own for the rest of the stay. The tennis court and pool were literally right next door (though late night sounds were NOT an issue). The pool was well maintained and not crowded during our stay. The uncrowded beach access was an easy half mile away with a convenient sand path along the road to keep our family safer than walking on the road. There were beach chairs and toys to use while at the beach. Also, we enjoyed seeing their local baby gator, whom we affectionately named Gary Gator.

The rooms were comfortable with ample space. Kitchen was very nice, stove, fridge, microwave, sink, utensils etc. Very close to pools and beach! Nice view. Relaxing vibe!! Plenty of parking. I would stay here again.

The property was secluded, liked the ability to fish off the pier, and nice view off the water. The kitchen option was nice. The owner was very nice and helpful.

perfect location, some nice features, other guests were friendly, beautiful views. Unit itself had basic needs and was fitting for the price.

This place was great, and we plan to stay here again. The only caveat was that the boardwalk was being rebuilt, but that was a minor inconvenience. It is an older facility, but well maintained. The floor plan is one of the best of any beach condo I can remember. We loved it.
Beachy Keen offers accommodations in Dauphin Island, 20 miles from Bellingrath Gardens And Home. The air-conditioned accommodation is a few steps from West End Public Beach.
Too bad the beach is half a mile away from our rented condo.
Too bad the beach is half a mile away from our rented condo. This property is listed as "beachfront".
We enjoyed the West end beach and the beach by the fort as it was just a short walk to the beachfront. We had fun swimming and tanning at these 2 beaches.
The Island is very clean.
All the people that we encountered were very nice and extremely helpful!

Very quiet and not a lot of people which we loved.
Very quiet and not a lot of people which we loved. We didn’t explore the island mainly stayed on the beach. It is a long walk from condo to beach especially with toddlers.
The water is definitely not as clear as Orange Beach and Florida but the kids still loved it.

The island was wonderful, but we were met with a surprising ordinance that dampened our stay. You cannot use metal detectors, (we are amateurs and just purchased a few for the trip) On our second day, at the west end, we were approached and told that metal detecting was not allowed on the island.
Look, we enjoyed the trip immensely but this item was quite surprising as I believe this could be viewed as an enjoyable activity for those making the trip only to find out it is not allowed.
To close, we are looking to visit again very soon, its just that when I reflect on what could be better, this comes to me as opportunity.
Enjoy your stay, we did.

The beaches were nice and relaxed.
The beaches were nice and relaxed. Loved that they were mostly dog friendly and others were respectful. The little aquarium was fun. Didn't like the views of the offshore oil rigs and the water was murky at the gulf facing beaches. Restaurants were weak. Mosquitos were out of control, we got eaten alive from dusk to dawn. Watch the gorgeous sunsets from West Beach, then run for the car!

The beach is very nice and more private than others which is why we come here. We’ve been there many times. I do think there is a need for more restaurants. And perhaps grocery store closer! Better communication with regards to the ferry. ⛴️ We missed it every time we went down there.

I loved the fact that the pool was right out in front of us and that the patio was big enough for four people or more. The pool water was great. There was some good places to eat right on the island and we did go off the island one time to eat. Everything was wonderful as far as I was concerned I would come back in a heartbeat. John was very personable and was very good to get back to us. Had a good experience with the Vaca Sa.
