    This facility had a toilet in my room that was not flushing...

    This facility had a toilet in my room that was not flushing at all. Sink was also not draining. When requested to repair asked me to wait one hour later. No one repaired it. Next time when asked about repair the lady ask me to use the toilet in the hallway that was already dirty. When requested another room, lady said impossible and that pushed me to contact Booking.com. I struggled over 40 minutes to get to talk to a live agent. Upon contacting the live agent, she helped me to get a new room. I was physically and emotionally tired by the time I moved to new room. I would not recommend this facility for anyone.

    The room and the staff were exceptional.

    The room and the staff were exceptional. We were passing thru on the way to somewhere else, so it was really just an overnight stay. Plenty of places to eat within a short distance of the hotel. Even though we were just passing thru, I feel that spending a couple of days at this hotel would have been great.

    I travel here frequently and enjoy the people, food and...

    I travel here frequently and enjoy the people, food and history of not only Effingham but the surrounding areas. You can can travel 30-40 minutes in any direction and experience history that you may not have known even existed. It is easy to get around and close to major highways for quick access to other areas to explore.

    I wanted to pay with cash at the property and when I tried,...

    I wanted to pay with cash at the property and when I tried, I learned it would be an additional $200. I did not see that listed anywhere on the website and I think that is an important bit of information. Deposits are listed for credit cards why not cash payments also.

    Nothing was good, peeling wall paper, dirty, torn carpet plug ends don’t work, Booking.com gave it 3 stars and it didn’t even rate one, if we could have gotten money back, would have stayed somewhere else. Place is gross

    Is a great town!!

    Is a great town!! I liked golden corral and Walmart which was close to the best western. My only bad experience was the pictures of best western did not match the inside of the hotel. Otherwise I wish I could have stayed and explored more!!
