Beautiful area and great hikes. The folks at the grocery store are very friendly, the local brewery is great and the food trucks supplied awesome dinner. We have travel with our 1 y old and liked it all. GIrdwood is a sweet location.
GIrdwood is a sweet location. Not far from Anchorage and a great place from which to have a day trip to Seward and the Kenai Fjords. It's a great town, where the locals made you feel welcome. Hightower pub was our favorite breakfast spot, and for the most part we were able to get around by car. We were able to see the northern lights on our way into town, and definitely took advantage of the lookout spots along the main highway. Gorgeous Setting, especially Alyeska Resort. However, our 2 nights with almost 2 full days was perfect. Not much to do but hike, eat, and relax. We did 2 trips: Half hour to Wildlife Conservatory (excellent) and drove to Whittier an additional 15 min (45 min total). Okay. Liked Seward better.Guest review byCarolUnited States
