This place is so magical it’s like being in a fairies garden! The place is private and tucked away, at night time it is illuminated by hundreds of fairy lights and you can see the Milky Way above and listen to the thousands of little frogs and geckos- it was like being in another world. We will definitely be coming back!

It was an ideal location for me! Near the homes of friends, a short drive to the company I worked with and easy access to Hilo.

+ : host is a kind person with a good heart, location is 20min by car from Volcano Park, Lanai is nice and the garden is cute. Fresh flowers and fruits were waiting for us inside.
- : cleanliness was a big turnoff : dead bugs inside the bedroom, stained and unclean blanket, mold on the bedroom pillows and curtains, mold on the bathroom curtain, food crumbs under night stand, dust, a terrible smell inside (a mix of poorly dried laundry, sweat, humidity, mold) which was also present in the towels and bed linen. Consequently even after taking a shower, our bodies will smell this odor. Also, the black&white dog was barking at us while we were in the lanai and at night. We tried to make friends by giving him some treats but didn’t change anything. It succeeded to escape and came on our side of the garden, which made us uncomfortable. Doug came quickly to take it home. We also had an issue with the water at the beginning , no hot water to shower. Doug came to fix it quickly.

Location and price were incredible. We were on the second floor, so not having an elevator was no big deal. The sound of the ocean waves crashing was a great way to wake up. With the ocean breeze, the A/C was definitely not necessary. Close to tons of great restaurants and coffee shops. Wifi was slow in the mornings but still worked, and worked great at night. It worked in our room just fine. We didn't need to; the lobby staff was incredible; the rooms were clean and comfortable.
A good location for a hassle-free holiday in Hilo, Hilo Vacation Rental is a guest house surrounded by views of the city.

If you are looking for a fancy hotel room, this might not be your place. If you are looking for a Acofortabe place to stay and get a night's sleep so you can go explore what Hawaii has to offer then this is a good option to put a little more money in the exploring budget.

Check what else is available against price.
Check what else is available against price. This is basic camping and certainly not in a fruit rain forest. We were ok with it after we adjusted our concept of what it was. Camping in a room that is basically a tent with running water and a toilet. If that is ok then this will suit.

Update- I just found the message on booking.com telling me how to get to the resort and what to do. It was accurate. I retract the statement that I never received my email, it was a message on booking.com that I didn’t see or receive till after my visit. Otherwise it was a nice rustic resort in the rainforest. Basic but quiet. Just don’t stop at that first green zombie house on the right!!!

The nature on big island is beautiful and the accommodation is far off the road: it is quiet except for bugs and birds at night. The stars are amazing.
The volcano national park was absolutely amazing. I loved my stay in Big island.

I loved this place.
I loved this place. It was very private, nice sized kitchen and bedroom. Perfect for anyone who would like to spend a few days exploring the Volcanoes National Park. It's a little far from everything else, but it worked great for us as we spent 2 days exploring the national park and 2 days enjoying the sites and beaches of Hilo.

Location, close to Hilo and the volcano as well as many beaches. Off the beaten path, beautiful plants and flowers surrounding the property. Saw local wildlife on the drive in and out of the property. Accommodations were what I expected at the price. We chose to spend our money seeing Hawaii instead of a hotel room. The room was clean and comfortable. Hot water for a shower and a place to make coffee in the morning. All we needed.
Aloha spirit. Private beautiful, safe property. Best location for exploring area. Mountain View(early morning bakery next to hand poured coffee house), Volcano National Park(entrance fee good for one week), Pahoa(Sunday farmers/craft market and Puna District. Amazingly strong internet connection if your a remote worker.
The place is lovely and spacious for at least 4 people to stay. It has all kinds of amenities even including purified drinking water and laundry detergent packets. Moreover, we left a power adapter at check out. The management helped us to find it and left it at the gate for us to pick it up.
I can’t imagine a better hotel stay honestly - from the gorgeous property to incredible breakfasts and kind, helpful hosts. Everything was so considered and wonderful. My husband and I feel lucky we found Volcano Eco Resorts, an amazing final leg of our honeymoon.
The location for exploration of Volcano National Park was very good. There were limited restaurants in the area for breakfast and supper. The cabin was clean but very small.
