Ideally located in Times Square, this Manhattan hotel has been around since 1930.

The hotel is an excellent choice if you want to be close to Times Square and across from the Barrymore Theater. We had the one queen bed room, and admitted that the room was small so there was no dresser, microwave or fridge.so unless you're packing light and only staying for a couple days, it's fine. The room is excellent for a solo traveler, though next time we'd probably book a two bed room if it's more affordable.
The Manhattan at Times Square, enjoys a central Manhattan location with Times Square 1056 feet away and Rockefeller Center at 2116 feet from the property.

We had to move from the Hilton Garden Inn because their elevator did not work and it was taking forever to leave our floor. (We hiked down several times). I have stayed at the Manhattan before it is super dated from the 80's or 90's. The staff is very nice. The room was clean it is larger for a hotel in New York. The first room that they put us in the bed was broken and they had put pillows under the mattress to make it seem that it was fine. My husband finally got up and talked with the night manager at 2 am, who was very kind and promised to get us a new room the next day. The next room was better but still dated and the ice machine was broken. The elevators did work which is what we needed. The location is also what we needed. The breakfast if you want to add it is just a bagged one with a pastry, drink, and fruit.

I’ve been to NYC a few times, but it is always a joy to visit. There are many things to see and do, although some are quite spendy. Just to walk the streets or visit different neighborhoods is interesting. There are plenty of choices in restaurants and ethnic foods. Times Square is vibrant with activity and live theater and TV shows. Central Park is a beautiful open space with carriage and Pedicab tours. Tiffany’s; the Plaza; Empire State bldg,; Statue of Liberty; Ellis Island,; Staten Island Ferry; MOMA;, the Guggenheim, and so much more. A visit to NYC should be on everyone’s Bucket List.

Expensive compared to the UK so if you're going just for shopping, not a great time just now. Products are cheaper in the UK. We visited a gospel choir in Harlem which was amazing, 3 subway stops from the Doubletree Hilton Times Square West.

While NY is known for being an awesome place for adults, there are also a whole host of fun kid-friendly activities for families to be able to have a wonderful trip as well. Some highlights include Central Park (playground and zoo), Prospect Park Zoo, Bronx Zoo, the Hall of Science, Color Factory, all the museums, the Lego store, ferry ride on the Hudson, Liberty Island, Empire State Building, Freedom Tower....I can go on and on! While you do end up walking a lot (bring that stroller for kiddos under 6!!), the subway also makes it super easy to get to all the different family-friendly places across the boroughs. Plus, so many restaurants are kid-friendly that you can enjoy the NY dining experience with the whole family without feeling like you're missing out.

We chose New York to meet up with a family member, so needed somewhere with a good range of flights in and out, and easy to get round once there. We had no problems on either of those accounts. We were not visiting to do a lot of sightseeing but needed something to do while we were there. We were glad to find it easy to walk around and there were things to do which were free (or didn't cost much, eg bus rides), which really helped the budget, so we could easily fill three days for little money. (Free: Staten Island ferry, Brooklyn Bridge, Public Library and its Treasures Room, the High Line, Central (and other) Park(s), wandering the streets looking at the architecture and shop windows...) (Otherwise the big sightseeing attractions can be very expensive.)

The air was typical for a very cramped and busy city.
The air was typical for a very cramped and busy city. So many people did not feel overly clean, not dirty, but more worn out. It was busy, and the service in most places was impersonal. Do not come to New York if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

The location of this hotel is so good that on some days we did not even take the subway to get to top destinations like the Statue of Liberty, Brookly Bridge, Times Square. The rooms are clean and spacious. The rain shower has it's own little room. Little perks like a toy, free water/coffee/tea in the lobby are a highlight. The best though is the roof! Get your pastries and coffee at Ferrara across the street and enjoy breakfast with a view of the Manhattan skyline.
The location is an excellent place very close to Times Square and also many subway stations. Travel to various places within Manhattan was really easy, fast and cheaper with the $33 7 Days Subway pass. The breakfast is kinda good and it is a repeat of the same items almost every day. As the hotel hosts around 500 rooms, the breakfast crowd is really big and you will need to hit the queue before 6:30 AM, else it can take long time.
The location was magnificent in the heart of Manhattan, just a short stroll from Times Square. Loved it. There's nowhere in central New York that could really be described as 'good value' - but this was less expensive than most and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if we came back to NYC.
The best thing with the hotel was its location. It was perfect, the hotel is close by just walking to most of the things that you need to see in Manhattan, also it was just 2 minutes far by walk from Times Square, and it was a safe area.
Very cool position at 100 meters from Times Square and very close to the subway. The hotel is cheaper than other options in Manhattan. The staff is friendly.
