Location is great in downtown Portland. Would consider staying again next time we're in Portland.
Room was a nice size, and we requested a baby crib and it worked well for our stay. We were grateful for it.
There is a pool and breakfast, which would be good options for anyone looking for that. We can't speak to either.

Room: The kitchen was nice and open with clean and functioning appliances. The sheets were nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast: The selection was great and the area very clean and tidy.
Location: Loved the location and the parking garage. The front desk staff were AMAZING at providing ideas for outings with my family as well as gestures of patience and kindness towards my children.

This is a gorgeous and rustic lodging right on the ocean and so relaxing!
Hearing the surf at night was amazing. It is a great family destination because there is a full set up for family cooking and being on an island means it is hard to lose the kids. It is set up dorm style so there is a shared men's and women's bathroom with multiple beds in every room. I would not want to fill the room with maximum number of people just to minimize the noise level but it could be done. There is a wonderful "great room" which is a large open space with a circle of chairs around the fireplace as well as kitchen/dining room on the lowest level.
There were some good restaurants on the island as well as a pretty complete grocery store.
We are going to plan a family vacation there for next year to spend a whole week.

This was a good surprise! It was summer muggy and rainy on the afternoon and evening of our stay. Our room faced the water and I slept with the window open! It is a rustic hotel with a huge back porch and lots of rockers. It is a pleasant 1/2 mile walk to restaurants and a grocery store. Facilities are available for you to cook your own meals and clean up after. Coming over on the ferry was a new experience!
Throwback camp style lodging with private bedrooms and shared bathrooms/kitchen. Beautiful historic property right on the water and close to the center of town by the ferry. Not fancy, no TVs; but the friendly staff are a great resource for what to see and do on the island. Also you can do nothing, read, sit, talk, whatever. Nice vibes.
The location is awesome! Half mile from the ferry right on the rocky shore and you can hear the surf all night.
Nice common area in great open space by the fireplace on the first floor and a full shared kitchen in the basement which is great for just grabbing coffee or preparing and eating meals with your family.
It was a wonderful experience that a hotel could never give you. Sitting on the porch at night having a drink with some of the other guest and listening to the surf hitting the rock was very relaxing. We plan on returning for a longer stay.
The porch, the view, the proximity to the seaside island loop, the friendliness of the people, the museum; all in all it was an amazing experience and I wanted to stay longer than my single night!
