Thank you to Tricia and Russell for hosting us in this idyllic location. Collected from the airport and taken to stock up on supplies at the supermarket. Met by Russell at the jetty to take us over to Aore Island. Bungalow was spacious and very clean. Beautiful outlook over the lush gardens and bay. Loved waking up to the sounds of birds each morning and being able to snorkel from the bottom of the garden. Limited places to eat on the island and opening times not always correct. Tricia and Russell were very accommodating of any requests and helped arrange water taxi’s back and forth to Luganville. Can highly recommend 2 or 3 nights at Hibiscus Retreat…. you won’t be disappointed.

Kathy was so nice, she helped me walking around the village and gave me some fruits from her garden. However I think if there is scheduled electricity or water cut she should have told me beforehand. The water outage lasted for 3 days even after the scheduled cut, she said it always happenes and never know when the water is coming back. Although she provided me some rain water it was a nightmare.

Staying here was absolutely paradise! The bungalow was beautifully done. The grounds were lovely, with so many places to relax. The private beach was amazing. The hosts, Sue and Jamie were very warm, welcoming and extremely accommodating. They helped us organise several trips. Santo is an incredible island - with so much to explore and so many stunning sites to visit. The Vanuatu people are gorgeous, happy and friendly. This place is a must!!

The location was beautiful! The owners, the manager and the staff are all super friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast, lunch and dinner are really great with delicious dishes with fresh ingredients. There is also a wide choice for vegetarians which is great! The restaurant is very cozy and has a beautiful view over the bay, with a terrace right on the water. The PADI dive center of Turtle Bay Lodge is conveniently located next to the restaurant and is practically furnished with many different items, such as kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling gear, etc.
There is also a nice shop at the reception with beautiful merchandise to have a nice memory of your stay.
The dive sites are very close to Turtle Bay Lodge, close to several nearby islands. You can also snorkel in front of the restaurant, which is great. The atmosphere throughout the site is very relaxing and you can enjoy yourself in a hammock under the trees. At the reception you can arrange any excursions you want to do, or even rent a buggy if you want to go out on your own. Santo island is so beautiful, with such friendly people!
