I loved my stay in this haven of peace and coolness, up in the hills amid forest and flowers. I was able to rest and relax without being disturbed; privacy was respected but help and advice was available at all times if needed. Lolita, who appears to be on duty 24/7, runs the place with an air of effortless but understated efficiency, remembering every individual's name, needs and preferences from arrival to departure. As someone who has spent many years working in high-end hospitality, I recognise a natural.
Another staff member worthy of mention is the beautiful, smiling breakfast serving lady - I think I have forgotten her name - Talosaga?
Two huge dogs and one minute kitten, along with a normal-sized cat, complete the most notable part of the team.
Being this far out of town it's not really feasible to go anywhere else for dinner, even if you have your own transport (which I didn't). However, the food is pretty good, the portions filling. I was particularly impressed with the vegetable pasta. My expectations were low, for such a lowly dish but it was particularly delicious!
There's a bar for your pre-prandial as well. As my first stop on Samoa I thought the food and drink a little bit pricey, but now comparing it to other places it's actually great value, and quality.
The rooms are very simple (needing TLC which I am sure they are going to receive) but have everything you need, including and extremely comfortable bed, decent hot shower, fridge, kettle, microwave and crockery so you could potentially self-cater, at least for lunch. Not that you'd need any after the filling breakfasts.
The view from the terrace outside the rooms and from the dining area is mind-blowing. The little 'secret' waterfall and swimming hole 10 minutes walk away is a dream. The little swimming pool would be handy, also, if you didn't want to walk down the hill.
Set in Lepea in the Upolu region, Lotopa Tiny House offers accommodation with free private parking. The property has quiet street views.

Amazing property for those who want a quiet stay while in Samoa. Property is situated away from the main road but very close to the city and main shops and attractions. I loved the facilities in the house including all cooking and washing facilities. Also, amazing value for money.
