Offering views of the Crocodile River and Kruger National Park, Kambaku River Lodge is a privately-owned lodge with game viewing opportunities.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Kambaku. The staff were friendly and always there if we needed something or had a question. It was peaceful and tranquil, which let us relax. They offer spectacular views of the Crocodile River and wildlife - even had some lions visit. Very accommodating, food to die for and extra special was the packed breakfast for our early departure to the park. Cannot wait to visit again.

Mhlati Guest Cottages enjoys a location in Malelane, 3.4 miles from Leopard Creek Country Club and 1.9 miles from Malelane Gate.

Excellent location right next to Malelane gate. Breakfast was good, I loved the omelette the ladies made. The rooms are well decorated and comfortable - ours was cheetah themed. Jeremy also communicated well with us about arrival (we arrived a little late). Would have been a bonus to be able to get more information that would help our self drive in that area of Kruger but that's not really an expectation.

The room we were initially offered was not fit for habitation. Our next room on first impression seemed better but we found it had mouldy shower recess, no hot water, broken blinds and window coverings, no phone , a non functioning power point so no hair dryer and chipped outdoor furniture.. We did not get what we paid for and when bought to management’s attention all we got were excuses. A very disappointing stay and definitely not worth the money.

The place is in a very quiet location overlooking the crocodile river which I enjoyed the most. The food was nice too, with friendly staff/guest house workers always going the extra mile just to make our stay comfortable. I wouldn't mind going back there again in future.

    Easy access and quick access.

Easy access and quick access. We went off season but had pre-booked with SANParks, so a word of warning, don't pre-book unless it's high season to guarantee access. It doesn't specify this when booking, so we thought we were paying the conservation fees. You're free to roam around in your own vehicle and don't need an off-roader. There is an abundance of wildlife so you don't even need to stay for 3 days. We went for 2 hours on our own and saw elephants, rhinos, 'pumbas' and impalas. The toilets are few and far between so either go when you find them or you'll have to do it at the side of the road...without straying into the Bush. We then went for a full day with a guide who knows the area better and took us to the watering holes we probably would've never found on our own, where giraffes, wildebeest, hippos and elephants were all hanging out. A note about Malaria: we read that malaria was found around Kruger and had conflicting advice about taking anti-malaria tablets. In the end, we just covered our legs and arms (even though it was hot) and sprayed mosquito repellent with 50% deet. In short, Kruger is a must, but don't expect to see leopards or cheetahs, as they are, quite literally, impossible to 'spot'.

Malelane is very beautiful and easy to get around.

Malelane is very beautiful and easy to get around. I loved the wild life the most, it was pleasant view to watch the birds and animals roaming around freely. The staff at the gate were very friendly and helpful. Wish I had more time to give a constructive review but went to the park for just half a day and managed to see some of the big 5 which was the purpose of my visit.

Just an incredible hotel. The staff is very friendly and the view from the hotel just breathtaking (crocodile river). You can see a lot of animals here...Also the hotel restaurant has a good small menu. The cost-effectiveness is unbeatable, so do not hesitate to book this hotel. The Malelane Gate is reachable in 10 minute by car. It was the third time for me at the Kruger Nationalpark, but this was defintitely the best hotel I‘ve ever had here...

The breakfast was delicious and I was able to have it with a view of the Kruger National Park and the Crocodile River in the background. I had chicken livers and egg on toast, with rusks, cereal and coffee. This was a lot more food than I am used to and it was delicious too! I would love to go back ASAP!

Place of passage in a quiet position not too far from Kruger's Malelane gate. The property offers everything you need. The room is clean and with enough space. Breakfast not included, however not too expensive and very good. Parking space inside the structure.

Its proximity to the Malelane gate at Kruger park is a massive win! The staff were great and the food was very very good. The room overlooking the river was great and it was a pleasure to wake up to hippo calls and fish eagles.
