The staff was very attentive, very polite and on request we even got a great campfire dinner. The food was very good. It is a hunting lodge. We didn't know that in advance. So you don't see any lions on the game drive etc.

The staff are lovely! They truly make you feel welcome from the moment you enter. It is a beautiful hotel with great facilities and activities such as game drives and a spa. We would love to have stayed longer to make use of these. There are also wonderful historic pictures all around, setting it apart from your big chain hotels. The rooms & main dining area are tastefully furnished - rustic luxury. The food was outstanding - the chef is brilliant. Our guide, JVR, was extremely knowledgeable about the environment and worked hard to make sure we got to see as much of the push as possible. We also had a talk on South African History from JVR one of the afternoons - really enjoyed that. The team did their absolute best to make sure we had a great holiday. It was definitely one of the best holidays I have had.
