The Halyards Hotel & Spa has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Port Alfred. This 3-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk.

The breakfast was good. However the building is old, there are falling paint on the wall, the ceiling is falling. the bathroom tabs not working well. the Bathroom too small no space for movement even for one person. the shower doors old. the bath with old stains. the carpet very old not vacuumed, smelling. It was a bad experience in the rooms. However, their food and staff were friendly. Well receptive.

Boasting mountain views, Kowie River Guest House provides accommodation with pool with a view, a garden and a terrace, around 2.4 km from Kelly's Beach.

We arrived a bit earlier and the host was very accommodating and welcoming. The rooms and the surrounding area is beautiful and relaxing. The host made it feel like a home away from home. Breakfast was well prepared and so lovely.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, Dockside is set in Port Alfred. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi.

Nothing about the property it was not guest ready, the host didn’t prepare the house for me. It was dirty dog pee smelling in the rooms, bed was not of quality and the bedding and towels.

    The views are awesome.

The views are awesome. Our hotel was by the river so we saw a lot of activity as people took cruises and rowed their canoes. Port Alfred has prestin forests and lovely beaches which I saw from afar. I however had the opportunity to play golf which was awesome.

the town made the rowers all feel very welcome and put on a tremendous show for the spectators. The town has so many nooks and crannies to explore. It was a pity the roads were under maintenance in the Main street and the bull dozers seemed to be running through the night which was strange.

Quaint little town with many activities

Quaint little town with many activities We enjoyed a boat trip on the Kowie river. The town has 2 shopping centers Lots of maritime activities to be done. Kenyon on Sea and Bush man's river mouth about 20km away. Guidos beach restaurant a great place to dine Fresh Fish market had great fish and it had a little bar out back which surprised us. Town is easy to navigate Just ensure the internet is operational. Tech services seem to be a problem

Quaint town. Beautiful seafront. Summer weather is outstanding. Town has all of the conveniences one wants. Supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops, take aways, banks and ATMs. Boat and canoe hire. Extremely popular town over the Easter and year end holidays. With good reason!

We just love Port Alfred, it is Quiet and not overcrowded / Pick n Pay Centre very nice - very friendly locals / Of course Guido's wonderful pizza / beautiful golf course / 28km of river to cruise up / the Rosehill Mall not too big, actually small but sufficient with a huge Spar. Car wash while you shop. Overall is Port Alfred just the perfect place to stay - right in the centre between East London and Port ELizabeth - 150km each way.

Did not eat breakfast. The room was comfortable but not well maintained no fridge. I doubt i would stay at the Halyards hotel again. it is cheaper and the rooms are more guess friendly at B&B. There was a group of guess that were noisy both in the late evening and early in the morning. i also got charge more when i checked in than i was originally quote.
