Robertson is a gem.
Robertson is a gem. It's such a neat and well cared for little town. It's quiet and relaxing and has so many little hidden gem spots to explore and enjoy. It's perfectly situated to explore the surrounds like Montagu, Ashton, McGregor, etc. Stunning lunch at Van Loveren Incredible breakfast at Four Cousins - fast friendly service with wel made food. Our Favorite winery was Springfield Estate, beautiful grounds and views of the pond while enjoying wonderful wines. Our GPS worked well and we found our way around the Robertson wine region. Robertson region was a quick two day visit for us, the next time we would give the area more time to explore the region and the many wineries available to visit. We saw, but did not have time for, hiking, biking, horse back riding, Breed River kayaking, and the hot springs. We also visited small sleepy McGregor, 15 minute drive from Robertson, to walk the Main Street as the shops had a store front Sunday open market and goods for sale. Montague was in our route to Robertson, we only visited the main town with a 30 minute drive through, so we did not have time to explore the hot springs or the hiking trails, but as it was surrounded by the mountains, we could see hiking would be enjoyable if you have the time. The garden is huge and loads of shade for those hot days. The pool is massive and there is lots of space to sit and relax. Breakfast was delicious. It's well located.
