With garden views, Ekuthuleni Lodge is located in Welgevonden Game Reserve and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace.

This was our best bushveld experience yet. The place is beautiful, the food was fantastic and the staff were so accommodating. In our short stay of two days we saw the big 5 with multiple viewings of lions on the hunt, including lions trying to catch a baby rhino (with no success). Our game ranger, Steven made every minute of the game drives fun with his knowledge of the bushveld and his passion for it. The best game ranger I’ve ever seen. Thank you Ekuthuleni you will definitely see us again!

With Welgevonden Game Reserve reachable in 4.4 miles, Sekala Private Game Lodge has accommodations, a restaurant, a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Superb service from a great small team. Welgevonden is the most beautiful reserve I've ever seen and the sightings are spectacular, mostly due to Patrick's deep knowledge of the bush and the animals in it.

With Welgevonden Game Reserve reachable in 1.8 miles, Elephants Crossing provides accommodations, a restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Our experience at Elephants crossing was great: we stayed in the villa which was very clean and beautiful, with a large patio overlooking the bush. I really liked that the lodge is small (max 12-14 guests I think), as we received outstanding service from all the staff and it felt a bit like being in a small community, it was very easy to get to know the other guests. Food is amazing: one of us was vegan and they accomodated perfectly her diet providing tasty and beautifully presented plant-based choices, not to be taken for granted in SA!! We had spectacular game drives throughout the 3 days of our stay with unbelievable sightings: Herbert is a great ranger and made our experience truly magical!

A small and intimate lodge, with very helpful and supportive staff. It feels like family there. Overall, a very beautiful lodge, excellent food (mut not too much), great location. A perfect place to spend a few days to wind down, but also be taken care of.

Fifty Seven Waterberg offers accommodations in Welgevonden Game Reserve. Free WiFi is available. Guests enjoy 1 game drive per day.

The staff were amazing - from the manager right through to every waiter and service staff. The food was incredible. Our game driver and guide was outstanding, so knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely room, although perhaps it might've been good have thatch to be more in touch with the bush. Whilst it was good to have fine dining, my past experience of being in the bush is that it can be nice to have buffet where you're able to experience different foods. The reserve had a lot of rain prior to our arrival, roads were challenging and because it's very rocky terrain with many hills and valleys made it tough to get around. That said, the lodge made every attempt to make the best out of this situation. True to say that 57 Waterberg go above and beyond to give you an optimal experience. They capture this in their Purpose and Values which they live every day.

Located in the Welgevonden Game Reserve, Sediba Luxury Safari Lodge offers big five game drives and a spa and wellness center.

Everything! This lodge is one of the best I have ever stayed in. From the food, to the safaris, to the staff, I have zero complaints. The rooms are amazing and very clean. Special thanks to Nkuli, Nadia, Moyo, Lydia, Martha, and Jan who made my stay extra special. I was welcomed/treated like family and was sad to leave. And Moyo is by far the most knowledgeable ranger/guide I have ever met. Will have to return one day so I can stay longer!

The Reserve is close to Joburg, just about 2.5 hours drive. I have been there a number of times already, and will be coming back. It is a different world there where life has it's own pace. A little paradise.

The best thing about Welgevonden is the feeling of being totally isolated. It is set into the hillside, and each chalet is far enough away from the next one to make it feel secluded. The Game drives are absolutely amazing; all the big 5 - lions, buffalo, lots of rhino, and if you are really luck leopard & cheetah - as well as hippo, giraffe, zebra, lots of antelope too. There are no private vehicles allowed in the reserve which has really helped the rhino population to recover. The night sky is amazing if astronomy is your thing

The reserve is well managed but the roads can be improved, the number of predators can be increased an the sightings can be managed better, the ethical rules of not stressing the animals by reducing the number of vehicles per sighting, the competition between game rangers must be managed better which will reduce the incidents

Our stay at this establishment was nothing short of extraordinary. The warmth and hospitality of the staff, the comfortable and well-appointed room, the thrilling game drive, and the unforgettable moments with the elephants all combined to create a truly unforgettable experience. I can't recommend this place enough, and I look forward to returning in the future. Thank you, Piet, Stuart, Chef Ash, and the entire staff, for making our stay a truly special one.
