The lovely guy on reception gave me a great dinner recommendation, then went above and beyond to post some items to my next stop that I’d left behind! So helpful, generous and kind. Hotel is in close proximity to the tourist spots, and I highly recommend staying in the beautiful spot of you have a long layover in Xiamen!

Set in an ancient building, the property is designed in a creative combination of oriental and western style. Guests can enjoy free WiFi throughout the property. Staying at Heitan was a lovely experience allowing a calming and relaxed getaway from Xiamen city. It was lovely to drink tea under the trees in the courtyard and to bask in the atmosphere. The staff at the hotel were also very friendly and helpful, they kindly met us at the pier from where our ferry arrived and helped direct us to the hotel. As it was winter solstice, they also kindly made us delicious tang yuan to celebrate.
