Just 600 metres from the Außenalster Lake, this Art Nouveau hotel in the Uhlenhorst district of Hamburg offers elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi. This is an old-school, boutique style hotel ran by an older German couple, who are very kind. Their English isn't great, but a smile doesn't need translating! The decor is old fashioned but it's full of charm and history, my room had a beautiful grand chandelier, something you won't see very often. The bed was very comfortable and sheets were high quality. The night I stayed it was -6 degrees outside and I didn't wake up or get cold once, even without heating. They offer complimentary coffee/juice with some small snacks for breakfeast in the dining room, which is a nice touch. You are 15 minutes to the city centre by bus and 20 mins to the airport. Wifi works fine. I would stay here again!

We returned to Aspria Uhlenhorst because we loved the fact that this hotel is attached to a first rate gym/spa/sports center in a very nice neighborhood near the center and the Alster lake. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. There is a soccer/hockey field in front of the building, on top of the garage, and there are also four tennis courts, four pools and a bunch of beach volleyball fields. The upscale area Uhlenhorst/Winterhude offers dozens of diverse restaurants and many interesting shops in walking distance. The center is about ten minutes by bike or car.

Perfect location, really quiet part of the city, room was excellent with all necessary for a short stay. Staff is great, really helpful. Near by the metro line, and near by shopping center with several groceries. Wifi was great.
