The hotel is really nice, and the rooms are very clean. Its location is in the heart of the old town, so it is perfect for exploring the city. I would recommend the hotel to my friends if they would visit Edinburgh.

Located on Princes Street, The Balmoral has a 4 AA Rosette restaurant, a pool and a gym. Waverley Station and Edinburgh's main shopping area are within 5 minutes' walk. Amazing historic building, unbeatable location, right in the middle of everything, close to walk everywhere. Excellent staff, drinks and tea time experience a must

The Witchery by the Castle offers a range of opulent suites in Edinburgh, each one unique with its own special features. Beautiful historic suite in a beautiful historic location, but with great modern amenities, and helpful attentive staff. We went there for our anniversary, and loved it, and would recommend it to anyone. We stayed in the Armory suite, and we loved the busts of the alchemists, the pictures of the kings of Scotland, and the steel plate armour helmets you can pick up. Not sure they are really historic though :) The restaurant is great too if you can get a reservation, but be sure to reserve early or you will miss out...
