Smile Hotel Tokyo Asagaya is conveniently located next to JR Asagaya Train Station. It offers modern accommodation with a massage service and rooms with free wired internet. Staff are delightful. When I stayed in September 2023, the room was very warm despite it being 10 degrees outside. We had the window open but still couldnt get the room to cool down.

The blanket was comfortable and many beds to sleep in, a full size kitchen and proper dining table. I also appreciated that there is a dryer to dry our clothes. The place was also very clean.

We have 6 family members in this group. Just good enough for us to stay happily. My mother likes the most especially the house structure and cleanliness. Worth to stay for at least 1 week there. Although need to take about 15min to 20min to reach the train station, the weather and view along the road felt so good for everyone of us. Helpful owner during our staying period. Her speedy response is greatly appreciated. She is a friendly person. She gave us a good explanation and information on her house stuff. Take this opportunity to thank her for her help during our trip in Tokyo.

We loved this stay, we loved Koenji and to be so near all the action was awesome. The apartment was excellent, so large, which isn't common. We were hosted excellently and didn't need or wonder for anything for long. What a great stay.

The room (I had 101 for 11 nights) had many appliances and amenities and therefore felt more like a 1 bedroom apartment than a hotel room. After a long day, coming back to the location felt as if I was "coming home". The transit from this location is also very convenient and a huge perk in my opinion. The location was very close to Koenji station which offers the Chuo rapid line to quickly get to Tokyo proper, or swap stations at Shinjuku which has many other transfer lines. You can also take this line west to Kichijoji and Mitaka for the Inokashira Park and Ghibli Museum. You can also very reasonably walk to Nakano from this property if that was in your itinerary. Lastly, you are within 100ft of a designated Taxi pickup which you can use for rideshare. The property is close to many convenience stores, dining options, bars, food markets, thrift stores and music halls. The owner left very detailed instructions on getting to the location and retrieving the key via a PDF and videos and their number in case of emergency. I would recommend this property especially if you were staying in Tokyo for a while as Koenji was an awesome neighborhood and made navigating the rest of my itinerary very simple.
