This Washington, D.C. hotel is located less than 5 minutes’ walk from Dupont Circle and boasts an on-site restaurant and wine bar. The White House is 1 mile away. I recently stayed at Royal Sonesta, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The moment I pulled up, I was greeted warmly by Ben, the bellhop, who was exceptionally helpful and set the tone for the rest of my stay. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully maintained. It felt like a true home away from home. The turn-down service was a fantastic touch—everything was thoughtfully arranged and ensured my comfort. What truly stood out was the staff’s friendliness and professionalism. Everyone I interacted with went above and beyond to make my stay perfect. It’s clear that they genuinely care about their guests. A neat and tidy room with a comfortable bed, bathroom and ample space to store my things. Toiletries were provided and topped up daily. All staff were super friendly and were patient and helpful towards me during a card issue on check in, and immediately swapped my room when I had an AC/heater issue. The hotel is within walking distance to Logan Circle, DuPont and Shaw. Downtown is about a 45 minute walk, a pleasant straight walk with lots of cafes to stop at along the way. The area felt safe to walk around during the day on my own. I didn’t use the hotel’s facilities as the surrounding area has lots to see and do.

The hotel staff were professional and friendly. They made me feel truly welcome. I wish I knew names but I would be writing a lot of names. My room was beautiful and clean. I love the wine reception in the evening. I ate at Les Sel and had great service and a delicious meal. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks to everyone at the Kimpton Banneker for making my stay so enjoyable!

Nestled between historic embassies and enchanting row homes, The Ven at Embassy Row, Washington, DC is located in the Dupont Circle district of Washington D.C. I loved everything about The Ven, especially the staff! I initially booked a three-night stay but ended up extending it to two weeks. The location is perfect, nestled among beautiful embassy buildings and just a five-minute walk from the Dupont Circle metro station. Front Office Manager Julie was incredible—she truly made me feel at home and well cared for. Jin and Ryan at the front desk were also exceptionally helpful. Having stayed at hotels around the world, I can confidently say I have never encountered such a friendly and welcoming staff. My room was fantastic—spotlessly clean, with a lovely street view. The Ven truly became my home away from home, and I will always stay there whenever I visit DC!
