We had high hopes for this hotel, but our experience was far from what we expected. Several issues significantly affected our comfort and overall impression:
- The spa was out of order during our entire stay – something that was never communicated in advance, even though it was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel.
- Our room door had no lock, which made us feel unsafe and uncomfortable.
- The hallways were extremely noisy, especially at night, making it difficult to get proper rest.
We raised some of our concerns during our stay and later sent a follow-up email to request a partial refund, given the number and seriousness of the problems. Unfortunately, we never received a response to our last email.
This hotel could have potential, but the lack of transparency, basic security, and care for guests’ comfort left us very disappointed. We would not return and cannot recommend it in its current state.

This was the fourth time we spent time at Kasteelhoeve de Kerckhem. The place is magical, like stepping into another world. We ate at the property, in the beautiful kitchen, and the food came straight out of the garden and was just mindblowing. Nothing beats top quality and freshness of ingredients. To be quite honest, it was better than the food in many starred restaurants. Everything was perfect.
