Everything in room was covered in dust including the arm chairs and one of them even had a dried up contact lens, so the room was clearly not cleaned properly after the last occupier. Bed also feels dusty as both of us kept getting bad coughs as soon as we were sitting on bed or lying down.
Cutleries in restaurant were also very dirty, half the time we had to change to another one as the one we picked up will have sauce or something still. Or glasses/cups will have dirty rims or some even had lipsticks, so clearly their dishwashers aren’t even working well.
Iron in our room was broken and water started to leak as soon as we tried to use. Most of the rooms do not have air conditioners and the fans in each bedrooms which we were advised by staff to use to resolve the extremely heated bedrooms were covered in thick coat of dust. My friends kept getting very dried food (meat/fish) so they were very unhappy. We were looking forward to try the pool, sauna in the spa but we were turned off by the state of our bedrooms. If they can’t even keep the bedrooms to decent level, they probably can’t maintain the spa without letting it be moldy.

Beautiful place, with a lovely little woodland walk around the back (only takes 5-10 minutes) staff could not be more helpful, they're all super friendly and very professional and the food was brilliant. Didn't try the restaurant but the library bar was exceptional. Food was delivered quickly and finished to a very high standard. Overall I would say this is a high end short term stay. You're handy to the city and all it has to offer but in the middle of a golf course so you feel out in the sticks.
Want to step out of your hotel and directly onto a beautiful golf course? That's exactly what you’ll get when you stay at a golf hotel. On top of easy access to the course, they often feature luxury facilities like gourmet restaurants, health spas, and high-end shops. Golf hotels are often set in beautiful locations, so lots of different outdoor activities are right at hand, too.
Beautiful accommodation, very large apartment with a fabulous bathroom. The staff in clubrooms were so helpful. We didn't realise we were staying at a golf course, so were pleasantly surprised by the location and surroundings.
This is a golf retreat but non-golfers are very welcome. Wonderful room with luxurious touches and great staff.
Breakfast was particularly good.
Would stay again.
Beautifully situated on a private estate and golf course.
Very reasonable price.
Huge and exquisite bedroom with enormous bathroom with shower and standalone bath.
Great breakfast in clubhouse, with plenty of choice.
Lovely walks around the estate.
Personable staff.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with a fab roll top bath.
Breakfast wasn't available in the restaurant due to a golfing event, so breakfast was pre-ordered and brought to our room. This was perfect! Close House delicious breakfast in our room! Definitely great value for money.
This place is amazing. The staff were lovely, room was huge and great value for money, food was amazing and my husband loved the golf course. The views are fabulous. We will be back.
Always looked after well at Close House , the rooms are exceptional, staff polite and very accommodating, lovely setting from Number 19 overlooking the golf courses.
