Bed was comfy. Did not like that the bathtub was in the shower. The bathroom was clean. Free wifi was also appreciated. Like that there was TV in the room, made use of that.

The location was perfect. The breakfast was absolutely marvelous.

We decided to stay here for just one night on our way to our final destination, but had I known it was such a beautiful place, we would have extended our stay. Kasteel Engelenburg is a historic hotel with lots of atmosphere which offers delicious breakfasts and dinners. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a spacious and comfortable room in what I believe were the converted stables. It had its own terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens. We will definitely make an effort to come back!

The hotel is very conveniently located close to the Papendal congress center, which makes it a good landing spot for business trips. The surrounding forest is great and connection to public transport from Arnhem is super.
The rooms are OK clean, although there was quite some layer of dust on the TV/shelfs. The bed was too soft and not comfy. The douche/bathroom was nice and specious, and the assortment of personal care products is always a treat at Van der Valk.
