We absolutely loved our stay at Berard. From the moment we arrived Jean Luc made us feel at home. He gave us a warm welcome and a pot of myrtille tea on arrival, and from then on he made sure we had everything we needed: he adapted the delicious breakfast to our tastes, he lent us an umbrella and some watercolour paints, he made phone calls to reserve restaurants for us and even called round the local councils when we needed to charge our electric hire car (tip: we then used the Eborn Reseau app to find plenty of local charging stations and paid using credit card at each). The property is stunning, even better than in the photos. Full of character and charm, decorated with an eclectic mix of antiques (some dating back several hundred years), but is fitted with modern appliances, and Jean Luc's own beautiful artwork. The views from the house are incredible and there is a huge terraced garden with tables, chairs and loungers if you feel like having a lazy day. Our bedroom was very comfortable and beautifully furnished, and sharing a bathroom proved fine - the bathroom is right next to the bedroom and it's a lovely big bathroom (again with lovely lamps, artwork etc.) so rather better than having a tiny ensuite. There is a cosy sitting room with lots of books and a TV, and we were able to store our things in the fridge and use the kitchen to prepare some meals without going out to eat. Overall a wonderful stay in a very special place. We will be back!
