We absolutely loved our stay at this guest house and wish we had booked two nights.
The owners were so friendly and welcoming.
The view from our balcony was absolutely stunning. Lovely breakfast, lots of selection and the most delicious warm doughnuts!
The whole place is extremely clean and well presented. Lots of lovely fruit, veg and herbs growing. Small fridge in the room stocked with beer, wine, water and raki! Very well priced.
Would 100% stay again if ever back in Gjorkester.

We loved our stay in Guest House Argjiro Castle. The location is excellent, very near the castle and the old town and our room had a breathtaking view into the Gjirokaster Castle and Nemerçka mountain.
The owners were extremely welcoming and attentive to our needs, they greeted us warmly. When we checked out, they gave us plentyl of oranges, lemons and apples from their trees.

Modern accommodation options are mushrooming up in Albania all the time, so Braja House offers a rare chance to experience a beautiful historic home. The breakfast/family room is like a living museum and a wonder to behold.
The room itself looks a little like an extension that was added to what is like a rambling home. It's comfortable and beautifully decorated with a private bathroom. There are also very atmospheric views of the city from there.
The hospitality is doled out by the woman of the house and her husband. There will be a quick shot of gliko and Raki on arrival with great fanfare. They have no English, but the warmth of the welcome doesn't diminish as they make themselves understood. Their fluent grandson Bjant helps coordinate the visit remotely via phone, and his mother also has good English.
Breakfast is in the dream setting of their family room and is a generous mix of savory and sweet.

The place had an amazing view of the mountains and the castle.
Despite the language barrier the staff was really helpful and friendly.
It has private parking but it is a one way garage so you may need to coordinate with other guests in order not to be able to leave.
The surrounding area (Old city and the castle) is really nice and accessible on foot and if you need a place to eat we highly recommend Taverna Tradicionale KARDHASHI (both the food and the staff are amazing)

Fabulous location in the heart of the city. Easy to walk to the Bazaar. Helpful with parking, it was a problem there. Very tasty and varied breakfasts with friendly hosts
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The guesthouse is very beautiful in a great location. Adela is a wonderful host, replies fast and will help you with everything. Breakfast is available for €7 per person which we thought was great.
The room was very comfortable and modern, the balcony was beautiful, the airconditioning worked well and the shower pressure was great.
This hotel is a rare jewel! it was definitely the most special hotel we stayed at in Albania - it truly felt like staying in an ottoman palace! Great location in the old quarter, right next to attractions like the Skenduli House and old bazaar but in a quiet street. The terrace is charming and has fantastic views. The hosts made us feel at home and were so welcoming and kind. All in all, we would definitely come back and we highly recommend it!
Clyde was a great host and we were well looked after. The guest house is a great quiet location in the old town, with superb panoramic views from the terrace where a great breakfast is also served. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Ideal location making it easy to get to despite it being in the old town, and only a 10 minute walk to the centre! Thank you for a great and relaxing stay!
Maradone is the best host you'll ever met! Great location of the hotel + Maradona is willing you to taxi you to the old city centre. Please don't eat in the city centre, the best & most cheap dinner you'll find in the hotel :)
Highly recommended ; great location to visit Gjirokaster, alma is a great host; breakfast is amazing ; rooms are really charming; and the terrasse has a nice view.
Ernest and his family were very kind hosts, ready to help us whenever needed.
The place is even better in real then shown in the pictures: very comfortable and clean room, cosy terrace in the shadow to enjoy a drink or a very tasty homemade breakfast.
As it gets hot in summer you can enjoy the small swimming pool.
The hotel is in a great location: right in the city centre and near main attractions of Gjirokastër but in a quiet street.
