Lots of space within the house, great entertaining areas - especially the deck. Full size kitchen with heaps of cooking utensils. Beds were very comfortable! The hostess and her dog Teena welcomed us kindly and made us feel very comfortable at all times. Breakfast included fruit, cereal, coffee, tea, milk, bread, and spreads. The area was very quiet and it's nice to get up in the morning and have kangaroos with joeys grazing 10 metres from you. Sonny is an excellent host. Great location - a short walk from the beach and very nearby to the local shops and restaurants. Our private room was comfortable and had air con. The hostel chef cooks cheap dinners each night - we never took part but I thought it was a nice touch. Good social events each night. The staff are great and the guests are friendly. It lived up to the name Birdsong Ridge with wonderful variety of birdcalls in the early morning. Some friendly kangaroos came by to nibble the grass. The flouro light was good and bright and suitable for artwork in the evening. The wi fi was good and the TV had good subscription services.
