Ponta poranga jungle lodge in the Amazon. A Tranquil Oasis in the Heart of Nature
Location:
The hotel is beautifully situated in a remote part of the Amazon, surrounded by vibrant wildlife and towering trees. It’s the perfect destination for anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature. The proximity to the river also adds a magical touch, allowing for stunning views and the option to explore via boat.
Accommodation:
The rooms are rustic yet comfortable, offering all the essential amenities without taking away from the natural experience. I stayed in a bungalow with a panoramic view of the rainforest, which made waking up each morning feel like a dream. Despite being in the heart of the jungle, the rooms were clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and reliable electricity.
Service:
The staff at Greg Hotel were exceptional. They were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the area, always eager to share insights about the wildlife and local culture. Whether arranging a guided jungle trek or a riverboat tour, they went above and beyond to make sure every aspect of the stay was memorable.
Dining:
The food was fantastic, with a variety of local dishes that allowed us to experience authentic Amazonian flavors.
Overall:
Greg Hotel in the Amazon is an excellent choice for anyone seeking an authentic rainforest adventure without sacrificing comfort. The combination of stunning natural beauty, warm hospitality, and a range of exciting activities makes it a must-visit destination. I highly recommend it for nature lovers, adventurers, or anyone looking to disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with nature.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
I stayed for 3 nights and there are two things I want to highlight beyond its great location. First, staff was very helpful and nice, big shout out to Bruna and Marcos. It is probably the cleanest hostels I have ever stayed, bathrooms were really cleaned all times I used them during the day.
I paid for breakfast and I would say there were good options for all tastes, including local food.
The hostel has a kitchen where you can cook and have free coffee and filtered water. The best thing is plenty of common space where you can watch TV, lie on comfy sofas and use 3 terraces located on different levels. Located in the central part but the surroundings are quiet.
Quite close to the beaten path, but quiet enough for you to have a good night of sleep. heaps of restaurants and pubs around the hostel too. The hostels breakfast is great too.
Great location in the historic city center of Manaus, just a very short walk to the Amazonas Theatre; very friendly and helpful staff; very clean, spacious and well-equipped room with a powerful air conditioning and a fridge to cool beverages; very good breakfast.
The hostel was on a great location right next to the main square, they offered breakfast (to be paid for) which was a great extra it filled us up before our long days. The staff were fantastic, really friendly and welcoming and helped us when something went wrong. They even store luggage while you are away doing Amazon tours.
Super cozy accommodation with lots of Amazon's inspiring animals on paintings everywhere.
The staff was helpful and nice.
There was also a tour agency at the hostel.
The accommodation was within reasonable walking distance of the city centre (even though it was super hot outside). We only used taxis to and from the airport.
Good and working air conditioning in the room.
Charming colonial house converted to boutique hotel, with beautiful decor (particularly in the common areas). We arrived at 6am and they let us check in as soon as the room was ready after having some delicious breakfast.
