I had the most lovely stay at Finca Flora del Rio. I was there for 3 nights and would have happily stayed longer. The space was beautiful and comfortable, with sweet artistic touches. Loved having a hammock deck, which was visited by hummingbirds. I traveled by bus/on foot and it was easy to get between Flora del Rio and the town (although important to have shoes that can get a little wet and muddy). Melissa and Pablo were wonderful hosts - thoughtful, full of helpful recommendations, they have a great care for the land, space and people and I enjoyed having chats with them.
Breakfast was delicious and utilized local ingredients.
Activities: Easy to visit town, the river, several roads/trails for walks with beautiful views and birds. They also have suggestions for local tours and guides which led me to a fantastic hiking/birding experience with David. Simply relaxing in the hammock or terrace was also such a treat.

This studio apartment, nestled in the heart of Armenia and just a short stroll from the bus terminal, offers a tranquil oasis with its charming garden, creating a serene ambiance. The interior is tastefully furnished with a blend of simplicity and sophistication, featuring two spacious and cozy beds. It served as an ideal home base for exploring the eje cafetero area. Monica, the owner, was the highlight of our stay, always available and immensely helpful. Her local expertise, having grown up in Armenia, provided invaluable insights for newcomers to the area. Staying here surpassed the experience of a typical hotel in the city. Looking forward to our next visit, Monica!

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
The hosts were very friendly and made us feel like home. They talked to us a lot and gave us many tips for things to do in the area. The whole experience was amazing, it was my favorite place in Colombia. In the middle of nature, almost no tourists, a really great and probably more authentic experience of the country.
When you are in the room it feels like you are surrounded by nature with big windows on 3 sides. There are lots of handmade touches. The hosts are friendly. Breakfast was nice too.
It’s a very cozy and charming place. No luxury at all, simply with good taste. I have booked for one night and stayed 3! Luz Marina is a very nice host and I felt at home immediately.
Luz is a helpful, fun host. The open "balcony" has a great view. The rooms, doors, and overall place are different than your standard spot; for example, a broken-off plastic clothes hanger piece is the lock on the bathroom door. The building is on the way into town from Armenia and then on the way out if you are returning there.
Brilliant hostel with lovely family feel - each morning I was made a different breakfast, each of which were fantastic. Owner really useful when recommending and organising things to do in the area.
Host very helpful but just ask her to speak slowly if you're not a native speaker! Old-school small, friendly hostel with small sociable area with hammock and games. Very secure and main door always locked and monitored.
The host (Luz) is awesome. So friendly and talkative :-) She goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and made us a nice breakfast.
The rooms are big and the beds the most comfortable we have slept on in Colombia.
There is a lovely spot to have breakfast and relax in the evening that looks out over the river. Lots of nice birds in the trees.
The shower was hot, which was a pleasant surprise. The town itself is cute and very local.
We felt safe there and in the town and hotel.
We loved our stay and won't forget it. Thank you Luz 🥰
The bed in the room was very comfortable, and the WiFi was really good.
The common areas were really comfortable.
The host is quite sympathetic and gave a lot of recommendations.
