Very good breakfast offer for only €10.00 per day. Wish I had more time in the morning to enjoy it even better. And the offers for dinner are exceptional. Bavarian cuisine at its best.

Landhaus Plendl is a marvellous, authentic German Landhaus, set in a beautiful, unspoiled and tranquil location. The house is spacious and beautifully designed and decorated in a late 19th/early 20th century style. Authentic English furniture of the period has been imported from England to create an authentic atmosphere, and curtains and fabrics are similarly styled. The house feels very much as it would have done in 1900 - but has WIFI/WLAN - copious hot water, and heating, which would not have been present in 1900. It feels special, but not daunting, and much of the decor is as would have been the case for the original inhabitants, who were probably a comforably-off Munich family for whom this would have been their summer or country house as it is less than an hour from Munich.
Our room was huge, with a very large and comforable bed, and a view of the garden. The bathroom was beautiful, with a marble floor, deep and long bath, beautifully decorated floral ceramic basin and large opening windows. Off the main bedroom was a small dressing area with wardrobes, through which we entered the room.
Our hostess, Frau Stegschuster, has run the guesthouse with care and attention to detail for the last 25 years. This experience and care really shows. The house was immaculately clean, felt romantic and special, and although we were the only guests ( early March) she was extremely helpful and attentive but never intrusive; the house is used for weddings in the summer.
Breakfast was marvellous. Traditional 19th Century style breakfast ware was used, adding to the sense of place.
We had rolls ( plenteous and varied) from the local bakers, homemade strawberry jam ( apricot too) from strawberries which Frau Stegschuster has plucked herself, farm butter, a wide selection of Bavarian cheeses, and also local Salami ( beef). The coffee was excellent, and we had perfectly boiled eggs. A perfect stay; we will undoubtably return and it was the highlight of our stay in Bavaria.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Convenient transportation, quiet environment, especially with a small balcony to relax and drink beer. The staff was friendly and the overall experience was great.
