La Bergerie is a wonderful guesthouse near the beautiful village of Chatillon-en-Diois in the Drone region of France. The owners, Nicolas and Andreas, previously owned a wine shop in Lyon and purchased and renovated this old hunting home only recently. They are both very warm and welcoming hosts. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and a delicious dinner is prepared each evening by Nicolas (a fabulous chef!) and served table d'hote, as is breakfast. We greatly enjoyed meeting the other guests over our lengthy dinners together. The region is perfect for hiking and cycling or simply relaxing in their garden with a glass of wine or beer. My wife and I spent four very enjoyable days there and had a wonderful time and look forward to returning. Most highly recommended!
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Archiane is a beatiful hamlet in the mountains. Cars have to park a few minutes on foot away. This makes it wonderfully quiet. The house is quirky and rustic, but with modern equipment. Four beds in two rooms at the lower floor, and 4 beds in the attic, plus a resting futon for two people. Large dinner table for all. We greatly enjoyed this place and its surroundings. From there you can start short hikes to see vultures, or long hikes into the mountains.
Nicolas & Andreas are super hosts and their renovation has been carried out to a very high standard. Perfect location for biking and walking and Andreas was full of the best plans for this. The trout that Nicolas cooked for our dinner was exceptional, oh and the rabbit the next night!!
A lovely character full small hotel with friendly and charming hosts. The eveing meal was delicious....I thoroughly recommend this place in a fantastic0 location.
The region is gorgeous, staff is helpful (though we had a miscommunication about arrangeing transport for me back to Die), arrival was smooth and informed. For me the price-value ratio was quite good, you have basic necessities in the camping and nice walks to different villages and viewpoints around. The kitchen also makes cooking for yourself quite easy and thus the vacation cheaper. When I was there (end of September), the pool was still open, but the restaurant wasn't, I believe.
A spacy, calm and well equipped apartment, decorated with style and taste. The hosts wellcomed us warmly and were always helpful. Other highlights: terrasse with mointain view, river beach, proximity to medieval towns, hiking trails, shops and events.
Location. Self contained quiet
site, not too large.
When l arrived they didn't have the tent l'd reserved but upgraded me to a small chalet for same fee. Which they had to really but some might be different.
