As it happens, Orangere was experiencing difficulties for the night that we were supposed to stay and therefore our host,Jerome, contacted us to explain that he had reserved a room for us at his sister hotel, a 20 minute drive away. We took a wrong turn, so Jerome came and collected us and we followed him to Le Moulin de Nanteuil. What a lovely place and Jerome went out of his way to make it a memorable stay for us, even suggesting walks with our dog along the nearby waterway. The food and wine were excellent and the room was first class.

    So, this was my first time staying in a bed and breakfast abroad; and honestly, I had a lovely time. They give you key and beeper access to the gate and house; so you can come and go as you please. The breakfasts are light but copious. You also have access to the kitchen if you’d like to store anything in the fridge or even cook. The hosts were delightful. They’re a wealth of knowledge for cultural aspects of the region and they were more than willing to escort me on quick field trips to see some of the local nearby sites.

    Absolute gem - we loved it. The location is in the old, largely traffic-free mediaeval area of Chauvigny, with a nice and quiet restaurant below the bedroom window which looked straight onto the small theatre and wonderful Romanesque church. The room is quite small but had had been very cleverly designed so that we didn't feel the lack of space. Access instructions were sent and easily followed. It is quaint and fabulous - a high point of our visit to France.

    This is a quaint quirky apartment with the basics and a lovely en suite facility. it’s Spartan but very comfortable and has the access to a quiet private garden which overlooks the neighbourhood, ideal to enjoy the mood over a bottle of wine. Our host Manu made us most welcome ensured our stay was complete. Across the road is a very affordable reasonable restaurant with extremely friendly staff and good food.
