Incredible value for money, you have a whole apartment including a sun terrace for your own personal use. The location is excellent, just a 5 minute walk from the town centre and there is a private parking space directly opposite the property. The hosts live in the apartment upstairs and will bring your breakfast at a time of your choosing, other than that they leave you alone to enjoy the apartment and terrace in peace. The decor and furniture and fittings are a bit old fashioned and the bedroom doesn’t have any windows so felt a bit claustrophobic and airless.

6 months before our stay, our hostess Minka was so helpful with booking local restaurants and a brilliant taxi company which were likely to be busy due to it being Circuit des Remparts week in Angouleme. On arrival we were able to park securely and sit down with a few local beers. Over the following two days Minka gave us some more great assistance including stepping up in the face of a medical emergency. She really is a fantastic hostess, both personable and efficient at the same time; it seems nothing is beyond her! The hotel rooms, including a residents' lounge are well presented in a style that matches the building and the wifi works well. A beautiful hotel, very capably run and we will definitely book again if we are travelling that way. Recommended.
