Very well decorated. Very central location. Little touches like the soap, biscuits, water, etc. Friendly and helpful proprietor. Comfy bed. Breakfast was great—a quite grand “petit dejeuner”

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
My host was very accommodating and cooked an evening meal as well as enabling me to watch the Euro 24 football, which I suspect they would not have done otherwise. The bed was very comfortable and the area is quiet. Breakfast was continental with croissant and baguette with a selection of jams and honey, very good. Some working knowledge of French is useful as not a lot of English is spoken. It is an excellent stop if driving north to get the ferry at Caen or even Roscoff.
This is a most remarkable property. It is a large 17th Century country house in its own grounds . The current owners are the direct descendants of the first owner and as such the house contains much of the original decor and many pieces of furniture. Our bathroom however was large and completely modern . The hosts were charming and very informative about the local area and gave very good advice on places to visit.
