Excellent historic venue . The owners have spent years renovating the whole site and they were very generous with their time to show us around the main house and grounds . The room in the separate building where you stay was fabulous. We felt like we had been taken back into medieval times . Our room was more like a suite and the breakfast was fabulous.

Amazing experience. The lovely hosts treated us with so much care and attention to detail, even having booked last minute because we were traveling through the area with our baby and we needed to rest. My favourite hotel on my French travels, a real gem. The old property has been imaginatively renovated and elegantly furnished with flair. There are interesting communal sitting areas; the terrace and bedrooms have an outstanding view. It’s situated at the historic centre of Thouars and provides a great location for exploring further. For those cycling, like I was, the secure bike storage was very convenient. Breakfast was simple and excellent. The hotel has a warm, homely atmosphere, with unusual charm! The hosts were extremely welcoming and professional.
