Suruchi was very welcoming from the moment we met. The room was lovely with fresh flowers, and the bathroom was a good size. The property has a well appointed kitchen so we were able to make our own dinner. The breakfast included was lovely- fruit, cereal, toast and of course Suruchi’s famous masala omelette! She loves her home and her guests, and wouldn’t let us leave without showing us her garden which she is passionate about. Suruchi and her son were interested in our travels and offered good advice about things to do in this area.

The Penthouse we stayed in was beautiful. .so much attention to detail. The views of the mountains and lakes were stunning. The toiletries were luxurious and the shower and bath great. The breakfast is down the road at a local pub and that was excellent too!

Phil and his wife were exceptional hosts who did all they could to ensure we had a great stay and felt at home, the breakfast was very good, cooked to order and a wide choice, rooms are a good size.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Warm welcome, relaxed atmosphere, Excellent customer service, with quality food & drinks available. Great location, free parking, dog friendly. Allowed 1x night stay. Great starting point for exploring Gowbarrow fell & Aira force waterfalls.
Brilliant place to stay the hosts are very knowledgeable of the area really quiet place off the beaten track and within distance of most main places to visit
Beautiful, quiet location, 5 min drive from Aira Force waterfall. Historic inn. Well-cooked, homely food. Great staff. New owner is charming, and keen to get client's views on any improvements, and to make the hotel environmentally sustainable.
The hotel is in a great location, just off the lower end of Ullswater, with Glenridding just down the road. and good mountain walks available right from the door The food was good pub standard and relatively cheap and the hotel was comfortable enough
Good comfy room and lovely beer garden, great location above Aira Force. Good dinner too. Small room but perfect for me as a solo hiker just looking for a quiet night and a comfortable bed.
Perfect location for a holiday. The house is very well decorated. Perfect temperature for winter. Stunning view from living room and bedrooms. Place is easy to find and very quiet for a break from cities. Claire is a fantastic host!
Great location, especially if you travel with a dog. There are some farm animals nearby but they are fenced. The cottage is spacious, quiet so you can easily relax. Since there is a kitchen you can cook there which is great. When we visited it was Sep and was warm so no complaints about that!
