Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Tate House offers accommodations with a terrace and free Wifi. This 4-star guest house offers luggage storage space and daily room service.

We stayed in Bedroom 3 which included the room, a private bathroom that is separate from the room, and a nice private lounge area called ‘The Snug’. The place was the cleanest, most well kept place we stayed in during our trip. Almost every aspect you could tell that the operators spent extra money to make the guests stay more comfortable. You could also just tell that more thought went into the guest experience than there typically is. The only thing we were concerned about was the separate private bathroom, but Bedroom 3 and the bathroom are both on the 3rd floor so it did feel truly private despite being separate. Was the biggest shower (with the highest water pressure) we had during our trip which was also meticulously clean. They also do a ‘self check in’ process which means that you can arrive past the 10pm time frame and still get into your room without having to talk to anyone.

Oronsay Guest House enjoys a location in Alnwick, a 8-minute walk from Alnwick Castle and 17 miles from Bamburgh Castle.

Perfect location! Next to the castle and gardens. Our room was very clean and comfortable. It had a mini fridge with water and milk provided. Nicola is the perfect host! She’s very welcoming and refilled the coffee, tea and cookies daily. Very convenient (free parking) in the back of the property. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

This is the perfect spot to relax in peace and quiet. The host Mylo, is very welcoming and his wife Poppy provides the most delicious breakfast and snacks throughout your stay in the bed and breakfast. There is lovely lounge provided for guests and as much tea and coffee as you could wish for. Mylo is very informative about the area if you are stuck for places to visit or pubs/ restaurants to eat at. We loved our stay here, will recommend to others and will definitely visit again, thank you.

Lovely managers, met great people and everwhere very clean and warm. There is also a garden outside, and the hostel is located very close to the city centre (5 min walk). There are books that you can read (and return) and plenty of games if you fancy. Hot breakfast is also available.

Very clean and comfortable cottage. Great location. Really quiet. Private garden. Hosts left cheese, wine, milk and biscuits, such a nice welcome. Great for walkers and to use as a base to explore Northumberland.
