Ecohouse Svaneti is a magical place. David and his family are excellent hosts and the location is in a small village south of Mestia. David's directions to their home were extremely helpful. We were amazed by the view from our room with large windows on 2 sides, a skylight and a large private terrace, Mountains surround the property. Facilities were clean and comfortable. The WIFI worked well. Parking was inside the gate of the property. We arranged for 2 breakfasts/2 dinners and were not disappointed. We chose not to drive our car to Ushguli and David arranged with his neighbor to drive us there in his car; do not miss this special experience. Thank you, David and family!

very friendly place for families. first we got a room in the main house on the 2nd floor with seperate bedrooms, but since our kids are a bit noisy we were offered to move to another room with more privacy and even though it was smaller (one bedroom) it was actually better - quiet, big bathtub and not many stairs to climb. breakfast is hand made by the hosts at the hour of your request and is delicious (and different every day). it's at the edge of the village, approx 15-20 min walk from the center. google maps might cause you to get there through a less comfortable, but there's a better way to get there where only the last 50m or so are on unpaved road. view is stunning.

Irina Lextagi's place is a bit of an uphill walk from the center of town. For me, this was great because (1) I wanted to lose some weight during my trip to Georgia (I did) and (2) it is a great starting point for hikes across Mestia's meadows looking down at town, at the Svan towers, and the views etc. One only has to walk a little bit further uphill past a few more properties until one can start crossing the meadows... which is an absolute blast, by the way! Irina's rooms are comfortable, clean, and well-insulated. There are two bathrooms available to use plus a spacious kitchen, a living room, and a porch with fine views that the guests share. The dog is also a friendly sweetheart who will warm up to you if you wish but will keep his distance if you don't! Irina is also very kind despite our linguistic barriers. She lent me a corkscrew bottle opener so I could enjoy my Kakheti wine on her porch! I attempted to write her a message in Georgian script... and she could understand it so great!!! So, the location up on the hill, the nearby meadows, the cows coming home each night.. and easy access to town for the supermarket, restaurants, etc. Great combination for all my needs. Mestia is in a gorgeous location as is Ushguli. Irina allowed me to leave some luggage in Mestia while I spent 2 days in Ushguli which was very helpful from my perspective.

Great place with a wonderful view from the window and secure parking. Great hostess, knows both English and Russian. Very tasty and big breakfasts! There is a heater in the bedroom. The hot shower works well.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Irma and her son are incredible hosts! They are so friendly, kind hearted people 🥰
The guest house perfectly located near the city center, room is spacious, new and sparkling clean and also has balcony. Irma helped us and booked us a tour to Ushguli and amazing Shkhara glacier.
We also used a laundry room (and a dryer) which was a necessity after hiking and lovely kitchen, where we made our own breakfast.
There is a huge terrace on top of the house, where you can spend evening with a great view
Maybe the room is not the most modern one but it is clean and comfortable. Close to the city center, quiet and a parking place. A nice garden and a kitchen.
But above all, the host family is great, friendly and welcoming. They gave valuable advice about what to do in the region.
And that’s far more important than a more modern room.
Great location, very friendly hosts. Rooms with private bathrooms. Fridge in the breakfast area can be used by guests. Free coffee all day. Great view from the breakfast area which is open all day.
Street to the guesthouse is easy by 4WD, probably also ok by normal car.
Located in the quiet area but in walking distance to city center. Wonderful view of Svan tower from the room balcony. Facilities were very new. Host was friendly and knowledgeable.
Great hosts, good room, nice breakfast ( which they also provided early on my last morning so I could have something before the minibus left)and Rati was very helpful organising any transport you needed. Quiet location but close to main street
Everything - but first and foremost the host! Salome really goes the extra mile to make you feel as comfortable as possible. The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful and clean, the area is quiet and has amazing views, and the home-cooked food is to die for. We felt so welcome and really enjoyed every minute. This was easily the best guest house experience we’ve ever had 😊
Beautiful, scrupulously clean guest house in a simply stunning town. Breakfast was a delicious Georgian farmhouse meal with home made yoghurt and fresh eggs from the chooks. Superb location, quiet environment and fabulous hosts.
Best guest house ever!
Nino is great host always kind and helpful.
I ended up staying longer that I planed.
Its also very clean and there is free tea and coffe and delicious homemade cake.
My friends ordered dinner and said it was delicious and very generous.
The view is breath taking.
Would love to come back soon.
Great location about 1km from city center; quiet; very comfortable. Guests hung out in the large dining room providing a homey, welcoming atmosphere. Host was good to respond to requests. Breakfast was included and quite good. We were given a gift of svaneti salt as we departed. She also helped to arrange our ride back to Zugdidi. Definitely recommend.
